I'm not doing too well. My parents took me to the vet yesterday because my gums are all swollen. The vet said that I am dehydrated and that I might have some issues with my kidneys, which are affecting my mouth. The vet gave me a shot of Prednisone and a shot of antibiotics that will last 14 days and my parents will do fluids at home for 14 days. I am so glad the vet gave me the shots because my parents won't have to pill me. I hate pills!

My mom is leaving for my grandmother's house on Sunday. She will be there for seven days helping my grandma after her surgery. So, my dad has to do my fluids by himself while she's gone. Hopefully he will do okay.

I don't know what all this means for me, but my parents want to keep me comfortable and happy for as long as possible. I see the vet again on the 11th of February. I will keep you posted. Being 17 sure isn't easy!
