Arrival Story: Tigger and I had a feral mom. We were born in a building across the yard from our parents' duplex in October of 1992. One day my human aunt heard insistent meowing coming from the place where the two buildings met. (The buildings were going to be demolished to allow for the widening of the road.) So, my human uncle took a crowbar and gently broke through the wall. A few minutes later, there was a little face peering back at him from the hole he'd created...it was Tigger!
Mom took Tigger inside the house and put him on a heating pad inside a dog crate they owned. She bought milk replacement for him, and made a small makeshift kitty box out of cardboard. The next day my aunt told my mom that she heard more meowing coming from the hole in the wall. When my mom went to look with a flashlight, there was a sweet fluffy black face peering out--me! Mom tried to get me out, but I would not let anyone pull me out; it took a few hours. They finally thought to get some canned tuna and I ventured close enough to the hole for Mom's friend's son to pull me out.
The next day, a Monday, Mom took us to the vet. It ends up we were around 10 days old. Mom and Dad bottle fed us and raised us up. After all that (not to mention falling in love with us) they decided to keep us! :) Mom and Dad had already rescued Buddy. Buddy ended up being a surrogate momcat to us.

Bio: Sister to Tigger, adopted sister to Bob, Pippin, Marmelade and Midge. Is afraid of strangers and even our friends. Is affectionate with her mom and dad though. She liked my singing; whenever I would start she'd come running up and stare into my eyes, rubbing up against me!
****06/23/08 Taylor has hyperthyroidism which has caused her to lose weight rapidly despite her eating like a horse. She is on medication for it now.
****08/12/08 Taylor recently had a blood test and her liver values came back very high. We are waiting to find out what is the cause. Please say a prayer for my girl.
****10/31/08 Taylor's Hyperthyroidism is under control and her liver values are coming down. We will update you when she has her next check up.
****12/26/08 Taylor's blood work came back and her T4 number is elevated. We think it's because she is fighting us giving her the medicine and sometimes we find undigested pills the little bugger is spitting out! Her liver values were better, which is good.
****05/24/09 Good News! Taylor is doing much better. We switched her over to liquid Methimazole, which she doesn't hate as much as she does the pills. She had a blood panel and her thyroid level came back right where it should be! And, her liver and kidney values are normal :) She even gained half a pound over the past month.
****08/06/09 Taylor is doing fairly well. She is maintaining her weight, though it is still on the low side. She still has her catitude, especially when we give her the medicine!
****01/31/10 Please see Taylor's Diary for further updates.

Thank you friends for remembering my Gotcha Day! Mom was just reminiscing yesterday about how she found Tigger and me in a building, one day apart. I was the reluctant one and didn't want to come out of hiding. Boy am I glad I finally did! I had a wonderful 17 years with my mom and dad and fur siblings. :)
Love,
Taylor

Dear Friends,
Today is my one year Bridge Anniversary. My mom is reflecting on all the wonderful memories we made during my 17 years on Earth. The pain from tending me during the time I had hyperthyroidism is fading and more positive memories are taking its place. Much love goes out to my friends at the Bridge and on Earth, and their families.
Love,
Taylor

Dear Friends,
I would have turned 18 today. Mama is partly happy and partly sad--happy that Tigger, my litter mate, made it to 18 and sad that I did not. Her thoughts are with us both today.
I am looking down from the Bridge upon my brother and sprinkling angel dust, hoping that he can have more days with mama. I miss my family on earth, especially today, as they miss me very much.
Love,
Taylor ^Angel^
