I Have a New Game!

It's called Something's Wrong!

I go up to Mom and meow in a distressed voice. Of course, she becomes concerned. That's what I'm counting on. Hee Hee!

So she jumps up to see what is the matter, and I lead her up to the kitchen and meow most pitifully while looking at my food bowl. Which is not empty, of course.

"Benjamin, there is food in that bowl. I'm looking at it. You're looking at it. What is the problem?"

So I start eating. And she heads back downstairs, shaking her head.

Hey, I like an audience when I eat.

Oh no!

I got out last night, in the wee hours of the morning. Somehow, our laundry room window was opened, and I managed to squeeze out.

My human brother "needed" a snack, and for some reason he can't explain, went down to the laundry room. He found the open window, Sophie about to jump out of it [he grabbed her quick!], and Danny awaiting his turn. No sign of me, of course!

He looked out the back door, and there I was, admiring the waterfall and the pond. I must admit I was also figuring out the best way to catch a koi or two. I was so intent on my planning, I didn't notice him till he picked me up. Darn that brother of mine!

We live in a development of townhouses. There are a lot of people who live here, which means a lot of cars. Many of them drive much too fast on the streets and in the alleys. There are a number of people who do not like cats wandering around, and there have been a few incidents of cats being poisoned.

Needless to say, we're not allowed outside. I was afraid I'd get some kind of punishment, but I didn't. I did hear, though, Mom letting the boys know that window is to be closed and locked at all times. In no uncertain terms.

I went shopping today!

I had an appointment with the vet this morning. Just my yearly checkup, and I needed a couple of shots. Yes, I have to lose a little over a pound. (You should have seen Mom getting me in my crate this morning! She had to wrap me up in a beach towel to do it! Hehehe!)

Afterwards, we went to PetSmart. We had to look for a lite cat food and buy our weekly litter allotment. Now, I have never been to any store ever before. I think I'm gonna dream about the place.


Did you know they have BIRDS there? In big glass cages? All colors imaginable and boy do they make a lot of noise! I didn't want to leave! But we moved on and found the FISH! Now we have a bunch of aquariums at home, but I couldn't believe how may PetSmart has! Row after row of them. Mom had to tear me away! Then we found the MICE! I was getting pretty excited by then. Finally, Mom showed me the reptiles. She doesn't like them at all, but I sure did.

Next time Mom wants some one to go shopping with her, I think I'll volunteer!

Maybe I can convince Mom the Cat of the Week should not have to diet during this important time. Sound good? Think she'll fall for it?

I'm Hungry!!!

Mom and Dad have decided I need to lose a pound or two. Hey, I know I'm almost 15 pounds right now, but...
I enjoy food, so what? I thought I had it made when Danny moved in and had to gain some weight. After all, the vet DID say I was going to be a big guy, didn't she? Okay, maybe he's also gained too much. But they shouldn't deprive us now that he's put on a few pounds. That is SO not fair. :(
Mom was wondering why I keep coming to cuddle. She thought at first it was because I loved her lots. Well, I do, but the real reason is because I want her to FILL MY FOOD BOWL!!!
Honestly, these humans can be dense at times.

If I survive this "diet" they'll be lucky.

I'm 1 year old today!

Wow, did that year go fast!
Seems like yesterday I was opening my eyes for the first time. I was just a teeny tiny guy. Now look at me. I'm almost 14 pounds! I'm all grown up.
Part of growing up is taking on new responsibilities. I'm doing a good job teaching my new liitle brother, Danny, everything he'll need to know. Until recently he was a feral cat, so there's been a lot to teach him. He's a great student.

WOO-HOO!

I was a helper yesterday!

A stranger came to our house to fix Mom's washer. Now, I'm always very interested in whatever is going on in the laundry room, so I decided to hang out and keep an eye on things!
I inspected his tools and jumped up to peer inside the workings with him. (Mom thought I was upstairs. She didn't know I where I was!)
He really didn't mind me, he told Mom later I was okay. Thing is, he lost his screwdriver! And wanted to blame me! Really, I'm a big guy, but even I could never MOVE that thing!
After searching around for a while, Mom wondered if he left it in the washer. Boy is Mom smart- that's exactly where it was. Hmmph!

OOPS!

As I mentioned, my bed is on top of the fridge. Last night the inevitable happened- my bed fell off with me in it!!

I'm okay, just shook up a bit. I don't think my bed's going back up. The reason it was all the way up there is because I would sleep up there anyway!

I'm such a manly man, I was able to act like nothing happened, but OUCH!
