Arrival Story:
In the beginning of July I got my first litter to foster from the county animal shelter. A mother and her 6 kittens--five were boys and one girl. They were the most precious creatures I had ever laid eyes on. They cried piteously all the time and constantly harrassed their poor mother, who was a mere 5 pounds. Magellan was the first kitten we named, and we chose his because he was the first kitten to really get up and start exploring his surrounding. He was named after the explorer, Ferdinand Magellan. I kept everyone until the end of the month, but because I was going on vacation for a couple days I had to bring them back to the animal shelter. When I got back home I immediately went back to the shelter to check on them. Because the mother was skin and bones, the kittens probably didn't get all the milk they should, and for this reason they were all in different stages of development. Two of the kittens, Christopher and Amy, were almost big enough to be adopted, so the shelter kept them. One of the kittens, Monk, was so small and sickly that the shelter gave him and his mom, Lucky, to a rescue organization to be nursed back to health. That left Rusty, Antonio, and Magellan that just needed some extra time in a foster home to grow a bit more. To make a long story short, my mom and I fell in love with him because he was so sweet and loves to give kisses and cuddle, so we made the easy decision to give him a forever home!

Hello everyone!! I know you'll all be surprised to learn what I am about to write about--FOOD!! Okay, so its my favorite subject, so what? Anyways, I found another nut that is deeee-lish!! Walnuts!! I would have tried to eat one whole but Mommy didn't want me to choke, so she just broke off tiny little pieces for me! Even Antonio enjoyed walnut pieces!!
And last night I really wierded Mom out--I ate frozen organic corn kernals!! Yummy!! Nevermind letting those babies defrost--I'll gobble em right out of the freezer!!

Hey all! A kitty catmailed me today and told me that the ASPCA says avacados are a no-no for us kitties!! So no more snacking on that green creamy treat for me! That's okay though-you know why?? I found something I like even more!! Pistachios!! That's right-whole organic raw shelled pistachios!! I guess Mommy can now truly call me a nut!!

Last night I tried yet another food that is truly delicious, and at the same time truly wierd for a cat to eat, which is convenient because I am always on the lookout for ways to freak out Mommy!
Avacado! Yummy! It's so green and creamy!
And this morning I enjoyed whole wheat spaghetti noodles and cinammon puff cereal with soy milk.
Mommy says the only way to shock her now would be to NOT eat something cats usually wouldn't eat.
Filling my belly and my curiosity is more important than shock value though!
Purrrs!
