Coloration: Orange & White Tabby
Likes: Ollie is very curious, and loves following Tordi and poking his nose into her business!
Pet-Peeves: The outside world; Being left alone; Tordi not playing with him (he thinks she's his mommy, she thinks he's annoying!). He also doesn't like tummy rubs, and likes to KICK!
Favorite Toy: "Bird-o-vision" (watching the birds through the glass, after his humans have scattered some birdseed outside), little suede mice (which he likes to chew to bits in a hurry). He'll even retrieve his 'prey' from the garbage, when he's not 'done'.
Favorite Nap Spot: Ollie LOVES to get right up in someone's face, and then... FLUMP!
Favorite Food: He's a grazer, so some dry kibble is all he needs. He absolutely doesn't get people food, and so he doesn't beg for or steal it. He will get carried away and try to eat Tordi's share of the kitty treats, though.
Skills: His special abilities include building kitty boogers, flumping against doors to demand entry and exit, closing doors with said flumping, and closing the bathroom door behind him before running and sliding around the bathtub to chase spiders.
Dwells:

Arrival Story: Almost 3 weeks after our Siona was killed by a speeding vehicle, we felt a need to fill a void that only a young, energetic cat could. The whole family was suffering from grief and anxiety, and our elderly cat, Tordi, just doesn't have the energy to provide the empathetic therapy we need (of course, we still love her, but she needs her sleep!). At first we considered an adult cat (we had a particular one in mind), but this little guy's personality just seemed more suiting. While still a kitten, he was not so tiny that the older humans in the family would have difficulty keeping up with him, but he's young enough that we don't hold it against him that he is not our Siona. This way, we are not comparing one adult cat to another.
Although Siona's "mummy" is writing this profile, she doesn't live with Oliver, and only visits. Oliver and Tordi remain with Siona's mummy's mummy, back in British Columbia. Siona's mum now lives in Toronto, Ontario.
Bio: Oliver's first day in our home was very emotional. He had just come out of foster care with his two siblings to live in the shelter in a communal cat room. While he has gotten better, he had difficulty sleeping when not curled up next to someone, because he's so used to the company of his siblings. Oliver has since been taught that sometimes, just sometimes, family members do not want to wake up with a cat practically sleeping on their face!
Also, when Oliver first joined the family, he appeared to have some sort of allergy that resulted in constant sneezing and... AIRBORNE KITTY BOOGERS! He has grown out of this for the most part, but he spent his first year with the family sounding like a little snot-nosed kid. This is also why he spent many nights crying outside of closed bedroom doors. He wanted so badly to curl up with someone, but no one wanted cat snot blown on to them!
Oliver is now nearly 2 years old. He is humongous, weighing in at 16 lbs of pure fur and muscle! It seems that he is still growing, although at a slow rate. Judging by his frame and facial characteristics, we're pretty sure that he is part Maine Coon.

I've Been On Catster Since:
Well, they're not NEW new, but new in the sense that they haven't been posted before.
Anyway, my name is Oliver, AKA "Ollie". I haven't started a diary until now, so let me catch you up on some things:
I am now nearly 2 years old! My birthday is March 31st. Well, sort of. My people worked that one out retroactively based on the age that the shelter people told them I was. I don't remember my exact birthday, so this is what we'll go with. The point is: I get a day to be spoiled!
As you can see, I'm a VERY big boy. Even in these pictures, I'm not shown at my full size. I have since gained a couple of pounds from the most recent ones shown, and it is all fur and muscle! Look at that bottom picture, with me and Tordi lying on the brown carpet (her fur is so cuddly!): I was only 6 months old and 8 lbs in that picture!
I have a lot of pictures with Tordi, who I think is my mom... or maybe my grandma, I'm not entirely sure. This is because I love to curl up with her and follow her lead. She always finds the best places to sit and to nap, and so I trust her judgement! She knows so many spots that she keeps waking up, leaving me in the dust to go search for a new spot! I do my best to keep up, though, because I really love napping with her. I'm sure she likes to nap with me, too, even if she says otherwise!
I also like curling up in places that are a bit of a tight fit, as you can see. I used to jump into the bathroom sink and curl up in there, even when I got a bit too big. Now, I'm REALLY too big for that, so I don't do it anymore.
Okay, I'm off. I have to go lick my wounds. My people were away for a couple of days, and the neighbour lady would come over and visit Tordi and I to give us food and cuddles. Still, somewhere in there, I seem to have done something to annoy Tordi, and there are tufts of my fur all over the living room. That's okay, though! I'm sure Tordi was just having a bad day, and I have LOTS of fur!
