Arrival Story:
My mom and my sister were visiting me in Utah. It was the night before Thankgiving and we had just gotten back to the hotel. We were almost to our door when we heard a Meow! We looked down and literally RIGHT OUTSIDE our door was a little tabby cat. I swear she was just waiting for us! I scooped her up and we brought her inside the room. She was just the sweetest thing. We offered her food but she was hardly interested. Instead she was purring away like a motor, and she kept dividing up her attention equally to the 3 of us, shoulder cruising and rubbing up against us. We considered taking her to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, but my mom was completely besotted. We brought her home to Marin County and she's been with us ever since.

Bio:
When we brought Dixie home we had to deal with introducing her to her new big sister Ginger, whom we had already had for 11 years at that time. Let's just say after 11 years, Ginger was quite used to being the only cat, not to mention the queen of the house. So GG was not happy with this intruder. They never did become friends, but they eventually learned to tolerate each other---at least sometimes. And although they never got along, when Ginger passed away and we moved to San Diego, Dixie totally withdrew and became very jumpy for some reason. Now she spends all day under my mom's covers.

Annoying Little Brothers...

I'm usually a pretty laidback kitty, content to sleep all day under Grandmommy's covers, maybe come out at night for a little TLC from the humans. But I just can't take it anymore! Those boys!! They are the most annoying little brats that were ever put on this planet--at least the most annoying brats ever to live in this house!
When I'm up and about I can't do anything without them following me and chasing me and sniffing at me. Mommy says they are just trying to play--can't they take a hint and see I am too superior to play with them?
And even in MY OWN BED I'm not safe anymore. I'll be sleeping peacefully under the covers, all curled up in a cozy little ball when all of a sudden--POUNCE! They start divebombing me from above! I tell them,"Hey, you can have the ground floor--I never go in Mommy's room anyways! But the third floor with Grandmommy's room is MINE!!"
And maybe the worst is my litterbox! Before these little rats came along, my litterbox was used by me alone, and I always keep it nice and fresh because of my dainty eating habits, which result in small, well formed--well, you know...I'm not saying it smelled like roses, but....
And now they came along, and you wouldn't believe the smells coming out of there! Whew! Don't know how Mommy stands them!
I am actually really starting to miss Ginger--if she were still here she'd put those pesky little boys right in their place!
Wherever you are across the bridge Ginger--HELP!!!

Yawn...
Oh man, that was a nice nap. Let's see, what time is it?....9:16 pm....yeah, guess its about time to get up and actually go downstairs...hmmhmmmm, here I come everyone, get ready!
Oh boy, I can hear Mommy and Grandmommy down there. Hope they're ready to give me some attention, cuz after a whole entire day spent snuggling under the covers, I could use some love!
Okay everybody! Here I --
GRRRRRR....Its Them..those two evil little creatures. Mommy and Grandmommy say they are my brothers, and that they are cute. Ugh. They look like a couple of ugly little rats to me!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! Just stay back you little brats! Did you hear me boy? I said stay back! No! Don't come towards me--NOOOOOOOOO!!!
(a blur goes whizzing up the stairs, onto the bed, under the covers)
Whew! Okay, I'm safe..Those ugly little rats will never find me here.
Oh how I hate them!
GRRR....
