Arrival Story:
We picked Sasha up @ the Escondido Humane Society in June 2005--she had only been at the shelter for about a month; her previous owners surrendered her in May (on her 2nd birthday, according to her paperwork) because of baby allergies. Originally, we had wanted to get a kitten and were so close to adopting one, but something made us turn back and go into the room where the adolescent/older kitties were staying. Sasha followed us about in that room, and when we finally picked her up she felt as soft as a cloud and was so gentle that we just had to have her. Shortly after we brought her home, Sasha came down with a serious URI (upper respiratory infection). Because we'd only had her for a week, the EHS agreed to take her back and treat her. They also gave us the option of getting another cat, but we said NO! we only want Sasha. It took about a week for her to get better (in the meantime, her human mommy was depressed because she missed her terribly), but she eventually came home to us. And home is where she'll stay.
