My brother picked her up from a pet shop and took her home to live with him and his roommate. His roommate, however, doesn't really know what to do with cats, so he brought her back to our house. She follows him around everywhere, though. She's like his Toto!

Daddy's Little Orphan

My daddy's been away for a very long time now. He keeps leaving for weeks at a time and then comes home for a few days, only to leave again. Grandma tells me this is because he has a job that makes him travel very far away. Apparently, he won't be back again until mid-June! That's darn near my birthday! He better be back by then because I think my patience during all this absenteeism has earned me one humongous gift! I know that he has work to do (how else is he gonna earn all that money to spend on my gift?) but I feel like an orphan! I cry all the time and ask to be let into his room just so I can lay on his bed and smell all the animal fur on his walls. I need some parental guidance, especially now during these impressionable years.

Blood, Sweat, Tears, and Wee-wee

I'm a sick kitty. :( My daddy was gone for 2 weeks recently for a job and is now gone again for another 2 weeks (which means he won't be here to celebrate Turkey Day with me). Maybe it's just the stress of him being gone, but I have developed a severe urinary infection and had to go to the vet today. He put me on special food (which is pretty yummy so far) and antibiotics (which are definitely NOT yummy at all). My wee-wee tract is so bad that when they weighed me, I peed crystalized blood all over the scale.
I guess that explains why I've been trying to pee everywhere but in the litter box, but haven't been able to squeeze anything out.

Didn't I just write a diary entry about losing my big sister? Well, now I've lost my oldest brother, Charlie. (They say that earth's loss is heaven's gain, but I think the earth-to-heaven ratio is quite unbalanced right now.) He was a very nice brother, and a good friend, too. He and I hung out together on the couch and in the window sill. He had no qualms about sharing his territory with me. Mikey and Sonni are my only brothers, now. (Except for Koivu, but d-gs don't count!) I'm really going to miss that big ole fluffy guy. The silver lining, however, is that there's more room on the dining room table for my big fat butt. And there's more food for me to eat. All that doesn't make up for the loss, but it's something to take your mind off the pain. Life has been very hard for us all lately. Maybe I should help make it easier on the humans by rubbing their chins and leaving my hair and scent all over their clothes.
