Arrival Story:
A few months after one of my cats (Papa RIP) passed away, my friend mentioned that a co-worker of hers found a litter of kittens in her yard. I wasnt ready to adopt another cat, and I certainly wasn't looking for a replacement, but the idea of rescuing another cat and being able to give someone a good home was enough to make me change my mind. When I went to the woman's house, I saw all 4 of the kittens in a crate. I have to admit, I'm partial to orange tabbies, and the litter was all orange tabbies - besides one. I noticed she was in an opposite corner and not huddled with the rest of them. The woman explained that she was a bit neglected and her siblings refused to share food with her or sleep with her. I picked her up, and she hissed repeatidly. We were off to a great start! She was completely feral though so I was patient. Eventually she relaxed and let me hold her the entire time. It really wasn't much of a decision (even though it was hard to leave the rest of them.) I pretty much knew from the minute I saw her that she was going to be coming home with me. I had chosen the name Eloise before I even got to the woman's house, which I rarely do because I prefer naming my pets once I get to know them. But the name was picked out ahead of time and when I finally saw her, I just knew that she was Eloise. Almost as if it was already planned out, it was just my job to bring her home.

Bio:
How can one possibly describe Eloise properly? All I can say is that she is definitely a special cat. She has such a vibrant personality and a lively energetic spirit. She may have been the neglected runt of her litter, but she quickly became the alpha female (aka queen/diva) of her new pack. She has that confident attitude that lets everyone know that she's in charge and she can do just about anything and get away with it, because you just can't help but love her no matter what she does (and it's true!) All that being said, Eloise is one of the sweetest, most affectionate and loving cats I've ever had. She loves to be carried around, to sleep with people (and her furry brothers and sisters) and to be adored by her public. She knows when people are complimenting her and being the show-off that she is, she will roll over onto her back and talk right back to you as if to say "Yeah yeah, keep it coming." She's pretty clingy as well and follows me just about everywhere and calls out to me waiting for me to respond if she doesnt know where I am. Although she's a bit skittish around strangers, she is one of the happiest care-free cats around! She has a very complex and interesting mix of traits. She will never be duplicated!
