Arrival Story: A few days after Dominique died, I had to attend a volunteer function at our local shelter. I wasn't up to socializing so I hid out in the cat room. All of the cats wanted attention, but Boots was the most persistent. He demanded to be held, licked my hands and let me cry into his soft fur. He is a tuxie, just like Dominique was. For the next week, I couldn't stop thinking about him. The shelter staff informed me that no one had ever shown any interest in adopting Boots and he had been there for several months. I adopted him 8 days after Dominique died. He walked into this house like he had always lived here. The other cats never hissed or fought with him. He settled right in and claimed his spot on the recliner. I am sure that Dominique had her little paws in this and sent Boots to us. He has been very good for my broken heart.
