Ms. Tigg is the most revered female (cat that is) in our house. She's been around the longest and knows the most about mistress - even though I think, at times, I know it all...
Well, lately she just hasn't been feeling herself. This past weekend, mistress was cleaning house...doing the dishes, specifically...and since she had her music cranked up, she couldn't quite hear the silent meows of Old Girl. Yes, Tiger wanted in the house, but mistress couldn't hear her needy cries. So what did I do...yes, I came to the rescue (trumpet sounds...do, do, do)! I stretched up on the door so mistress could see my furry face, and I gave her "the eyes." Yes, you know the ones...
So here comes mistress to the door. Just as she opened the door, Tiger dashed in as I turned and trotted down the back porch steps. A few minutes later...and I still don't understand...but Tiger wanted back out...so mistress let her out. Yes, you guessed it...I had to come to the rescue again. Once more, I stretched up on the door, peered through the screen, gave mistress "the eyes" and BINGO...Tiger was safe inside.
No applause necessary. That's what we gentlecats are supposed to do, help the "old kittens" back in the house! The reward was knowing Tiger was taken care of...come to think of it, that rub behind the ears and on the tummy was worth it too! ;)

Goodie, goodie! My little cousin is coming home today! She's been with my grands in New Mexico, while I've been here in Texas "holding down the fort." I hope she remembers who I am. It will be nice to have my sweet playmate back home!

It was hot today in Texas, so I decided to do what many other beloved fat cats do on a hot day...find the coolest spot for a nap!
When mistress went to work this morning, I took a little adventure in the backyard. There are many new adventures! Since grandmaster has retired, he has done a lot of yard work, so I have new places to explore! Most importantly are the tomatoes. They are just now green, but mistress just hates for any bugs or birds to eat her tomatoes, so I try to keep them at bay. Grasshoppers are my favorite...and here in Texas they are BIG HOPPERS!
The dew was so cool on my paws this morning. I had a little Cat Chow then found a cool spot under my grands' truck and napped all afternoon. It was a good hiding place...I blended in with the shadow so I was "hidden" just enough that I was lucky enough to catch lots of bugs who wandered by.
Since I'm just now beginning to feel better, I'm still not venturing very far, but hope to very soon!

Well friends~
Thank you all so much for your e-mails and concerns. With some good doctoring and TLC from my mistress and grands, I'm feeling more and more like my ol' self.
Mistress still has to give me my pink medicine until it's all gone...yuck...I just hate that stuff! As much as I struggle, somehow she manages to succeed in squirting that stuff in my mouth just so I won't spit it back out...man she's gooooood! :)
I felt a little frisky today...chased a wadded up piece of paper...my favorite...and catted around outside. Mistress treated me to a tasty treat, Whiskas Temptations, paw-lickin’ good!
Everyone in the family is pleased I am on my way to recovery. Now we can all play again! I'll have to ask Mistress to post pictures of my family soon.
Take care all~

P.S. I'm honored to have so many new friends! Purrr....

Boy! For entering the world of the Internet while being such an ill kitty, I certainly have received one of the warmest welcomes any cat could receive. I've met some great new friends that I can't wait to keep up with!
Many of my new friends have offered their "get well soon wishes, but looks like I still won't be back to my ol' self for a few more days.
Has anyone heard of Rodent Ulcers? Well, that's what I've been so sick with. And I didn't even get them from eating, playing with, or even associating with mice - pesky or not!
My mistress noticed I wasn't feeling well last week and even on Monday. She went to work on Tuesday and asked my Grands to take me to the doctor. Being the great Grands they are, they took me to the doctor...that's where they learned I had ulcers all in my mouth and down my throat. I know my mistress noticed I wasn't eating or drinking as usual - my mouth was sore!
Sure, cats like me could stand to lose a few pounds, but having a sore mouth and throat certainly isn't the best method to drop those vanity pounds!
They squirted some pink stuff in my mouth the first couple of days - I hate medicine. Mistress said it smelled like bubble gum, but folks, that was the most nasty stuff I've ever experienced! UCK! I still wasn't feeling good, even with a shot, by Thursday, so my Grands took me to another vet who proposed the same icky medicine PLUS some sort of thick, sticky stuff they've been giving me. My mouth is beginning to feel better though, so something's working. Oh, and imagine this...the Doc sent home two cans of soft food (I'm an Iams dry food fan, so the Science Diet soft food took a little getting used to).
Oh, my Mistress wants to write something...here she is:
Thanks Whisk for letting me address all your kitty friends! Yes, Whisk has been a sick boy! It was so sad the first couple of days (before the soft food) as he would just stare at his bowl of Iams with that longing look...he wanted to eat soooo bad, but his little mouth and throat were so sore...it was really sad!
He still has a couple of sores on his nose and doesn't much care for me to give him his medicine, but the fact that he's wanting to sit on me and asks for some food is a positive sign.
What is that? OK...Whisk says it's time for him to finish this entry...Thanks again to everyone for the well wishes! ~Whisk's Mistress
Isn't she a peach?! She's been terrific...washing my face after my medicine and ensuring I'm eating my food and feeling better...what would we do without our humans!
I'll be sure to keep you all updated on my condition. I can't wait until I feel better and can chase grasshoppers out in the yard!
Take care my friends~

Well, well...I have arrived on the World Wide Web (and my mistress only thought I was a tad less than a genius, boy do I have her fooled)!
Actually, I'm just getting back to myself. I've been under the weather and visited the vet twice this week - I've definitely been a sick kitty. And how sweet is my mistress telling me all about this site to cheer me up! I wouldn't know what to do without her!
Oh, and my Grands (Grandmistress and Grandmaster) have also been taking care of me while my mistress has been at work…earning money…so she can buy more kitty food!
I can't wait to meet more of you and swap “mouse tails.”
