He loves being in a home, having toys, and eating premium food. Lap time and lots of head rubs are big hits.
None - He is a real character
A specific cloth mousie. He does the CUTEST thing with the mousie -- he puts it on his dinner plate when he eats!! He has some food, then chews on the mousie, then has some food....then he carries it to another plate....it is hilarious!!
Favorite Nap Spot:
Anyplace warm -- he has a very short coat and loves the sun or a kitty bed
Anything and everything!
He is unbelievably skilled at stealing human food from the kitchen while we are in the living room! Mocha is also the expert in the house when it comes to finding a patch of sunlight for a nap!
Mocha was a lab cat. He was born in and lived his first year and a half in a colony of cats kept for research. The vet/scientist routinely gives her colony lab cats to a local rescue for adoption after they are not needed any more. I have always loved the Havana Brown breed, and I saw this boy in our local rescue and thought he looked a lot like a Havana Brown. However, we were not in the market for a cat -- Salsa and Ninja, as well as all the others, were still with us. Every time we went to the rescue (which is housed within a pet boutique, grooming service, etc....) I'd look in the cat room, and "the brown one" was still there. A couple of months after we lost Salsa, he was still there. I went into the cat rescue area and was giving love to the kitties. Mocha proved he belonged here in the House of Paws when he *literally* laid down and let the other cats physically walk on him. I knew he'd have no trouble in our multi-cat home, and we brought him home that day.
Mocha is only a Havana Brown wannabe -- he has many characteristics but lacks many others. Most notable is his very shiny, luscious chocolatey-brown coat. Mocha is a pure joy to have at home. He is quirky, beautiful, and affectionate. He is learning very well how to be a pet -- he was an adult cat when he came to live with us almost two years ago. He has been a superb addition to the House of Paws. He fit in with the other cats right away and gets along well with them. He loves to play chase with the other kitties. He is not at all aggressive, though sometimes he is very persistent when he wants to play or he wants attention!
