Arrival Story:
Mom and dad were looking for a kitten to be friends with their existing cat, Socrates. They went to a couple of PetSmart locations, without any luck, and at the second location someone suggested they consider me. I was in my cage, listening attentively. They looked like nice people, so I put on my friendly face and did everything I could to impress them. They even rubbed my belly and I let them because I really wanted to go live with them! Mommy noticed I shed a lot and had a crooked tail, and wasn't so sure she wanted me. Plus, I'm a big cat and I was a little overweight, and at 2 years old, definitely older than they were looking for. However, my winning personality and charm won them over, and they decided to give me a try. And I'm making sure every day they don't regret it. So far, so good :) When they brought me to their home, they already had another cat, a little brat named Socrates. At first she HATED me... she hissed at me every time she saw me, hid from me whenever she could. I kept trying to go up to her and be buddies but she'd just hiss and scratch and chase me away. I tried explaining to her that I wasn't there to take over the home but to be a playmate but she didn't care. Eventually she did come around and now she accepts me like a brother. I am very protective of her... whenever she wakes up from a nap, I give her a tongue bath, and she just stretches and enjoys it. I also get mad when mom and dad try to clip her nails... once I even bit mom while she was holding Socrates hostage. I got my name because Mom is a history teacher and she thought it'd be so cool to have pets named after Greek philosophers. She plans on getting a dog named Aristotle when they decide to buy a house.

Bio:
I'm the friendliest cat on earth! I love to greet strangers, be petted, have my tummy rubbed, and lay on your lap and go to sleep. I also am a big talker. I love to have conversations with my humans. I know I don't understand exactly what they're saying, and they don't know what I'm trying to say, but we still understand each other. Plus, I get attention sometimes... other times they ignore me though :(

The Life of Plato the Fat Potato

Mom is staying with us now!

Mom is on vacation for the first time since she brought me home 5 months ago (she's a teacher), so she spent today with us living the cat life.

Dad fed us this morning before going to work. Then we climbed on their bed and cuddled with mom until 11, when she woke up. She watched TV, while I sat next to her, then went back to bed and we slept all afternoon. Socrates cuddled with me, and I woke up twice to give her a tongue bath.

Now we're both lounging around, and I'm looking for food. I think I'm gonna see if Socrates left any food in her plate.... I'm saving my leftovers for a rainy day.
