Arrival Story: We lived in Dallas, TX when Salsa came into our lives. A co-worker found an abandoned litter of kittens approximately 4 weeks old when she was walking her dog. I wanted a pet, but my husband has many allergies and we didn't know if a cat would work out. We spent a long time visiting the kittens (where there were also adult cats) -- no sneezes or sniffles from the husband, so good news. Salsa was pathetic and sitting alone in the corner. I went to her because I felt she would be euthanized in a shelter (the rescuer was going to turn the kittens over to the shelter, after trying valiantly to find them homes). I chose this little kitten, and then handed her to my husband. I went to play with the other kittens while he decided if he liked her. The rest is history. See Ninja's story for more!!

Bio: Litter mate of Ninja. Salsa loved people -- she would sit in your lap and knead, purr and even drool. She was not a demanding cat at all, but she would let you know her opinion!! She was very stubborn. We boarded her one time when we went on vacation, and she apparently yelled the entire week we were gone - she lost her voice from screaming, and the staff were very glad to see her go home! I think we underappreciated Salsa, especially in her later years, and I miss her now. She succumbed to Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) after a short battle. The key to treating CRF successfully is information; an excellent source is: http://www.felinecrf.org/
