I was in PetSmart and went to look at the kitties for adoption . There , in the same cage I had gotten Ruby from , was Charlie , then called Char . There was a letter on his cage , explaining that he had been rescued from a house fire 5 months earlier , and because he has many scars , no one wanted him , and asked people to look beyond his outside and see the beauty within . I petted him , and he licked my hand . I was a goner . Charlie came to live with me .
