Arrival Story:
Ras was abandoned at my fiance's house two days before Halloween of 1999. We found her in the morning glories. I wasn't supposed to have pets at my apartment, but I couldn't find a home for her, so I took her in (like it took much convincing!). She was very tiny (about 4 wks old) and very feral when we found her and wouldn't allow anyone to touch her. Every day I would play with her with a furry mouse tied to a shoe string. I would pull the mouse a little farther out into the hallway each time we played until one day she actually walked all the way down the hall. It took a lot of time and patience, but now Ras loves affection and attention. And just recently she has decided to become a lap cat!

Bio:
Ras is a very intelligent, curious cat. You can tell what she is thinking by looking at her face. She has the biggest, greenest eyes and they give away her emotions. She also has a very golden coat that I think is very rare in Tabbies. She is getting used to her sister, Allie, but still gets annoyed when she can't have the window seat all to herself!

Rascal's Rant

Dogs are loud and stinky!

I had to go to the vet today and it was not fun AT ALL! When I first got there there were dogs everywhere, and boy were they loud (and stinky!). I was the only cat in the waiting room. Mom told me that everything was going to be ok but I was shaking like a leaf! I crawled to the back of my carrier and wished that I could just go home. Finally we got to see the vet and I had to have four shots and one of them was put up my nose...talk about gross! Then the vet looked at my teeth and told my mom that I should have them cleaned because I have build up. Then my mom told the vet that I had fleas and I had to have sticky drops put in my hair.

I am home now but I feel so stinky, sticky and dirty. I am washing and washing and washing. But somehow I can't reach the back of my neck to wash off those sticky drops of flea medicine--darn it! I think I will just go to bed!
