Arrival Story:
Morgan was trapped as a feral kitten with a brother, and they were (unethically, I believe) sold in a mall parking lot. I was visiting my cousin in Cumberland, MD - not far from Morgantown WV, where he was originally trapped - and we visited the mall in a nearby town. I fell hook line and sinker for those kittens. I took Morgan, but always wished I had taken his brother as well - they were identical in every way.

Bio:
Morgan was a very wild kitten who needed quite a bit of taming. I would wrap him in a towel to hold him. Because he was so mean (and strong) it was necessary to remove his front claws. He still had his teeth, though, and could pack quite a bite! Morgan developed Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease when he was a year old. After many full urinary tract blockages resulting in lengthy (and expensive!) hospital stays, he had a perineal urethrostomy performed when he was 7 years old to prevent him from blocking again - a blockage that was not caught would have taken his life. I know that had Morgan stayed living in the wilds of West Virginia, he would never have lived as long as he has. While he is still somewhat wild - and very strong - he has also always been very afraid. I think his life would have been cut very short had he not been caught and removed from the outdoors. He is mostly tame now - he tolerates being held and LOVES to be pet - he has learned that hands are gentle and will not hurt him. He is not particularly fond of other animals, so its difficult for him to live in a home with others - but he tolerates them, and occasionally will even lie down with one of his feline brothers, if he really likes them. He really is a sweet cat, although most people just think of him as a very mean cat. Well, I love him - and that's all that really matters in this life - that somebody loves you.
