Arrival Story:
Caleb was one of 4 little kittens put on consignment at the pet store where I worked. I had never seen a scottish fold before. He was tiny and had the cutest little folded ears I had ever seen. When I picked him up he would flop just like a toy. My monthly bonus made it possible for me to afford purchasing him. I took him home immediately and adopted his sister for my mom the following day.

Caleb crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 16, 2009. He was a patient loving cat who babied his younger cat friends and humans. He will be missed.

Mom's been making me eat these silly little pills for a while. At first she tried to put them in my food but Jakey kept pushing me away and eating all of the food. Then mom decided she'd force me to swallow them and sometimes I'd give her a hard time. Finally she realized that they taste yummy and I'll eat them all by myself and you know what? they are making me feel really good.

Mom says they are for my joints. I'm not sure what that means but last year when I got so sick the first time Dr. Phillips told mom I have bad arthritis. Mom asked him if there was anything that could help but I was so sick with my bladder stones that she never got them. Then one day when mom was reading the "Scottish Fold Fanciers" list someone told all about how their kitty was taking this stuff called Cosequin and it made her much more lively and happy so mom got some for me to try.

At first she let me eat two pills a day and now she gives me one pill every other day. I am not growling so much anymore and I can jump up on the couch and chase Jakey. Jakey is still a big pain in the butt.

I can't remember when I felt so good. It's been really cold too and today is the first day mom found me all snuggled up under the blankets on her bed. Ashlee and Jakey are snuggling in the blankets too.

I hope some of you get Cosequin for Christmas if your person finds you have trouble jumping and limp sometimes. It is really good. Mom got it from Healthy Pets.

Wow I was feeling really awful for a while. My tummy was really upset and it made me mad when Jake and Ashlee would bug me. I just wanted to feel better not play.

I had to go to the dr's alot and even though they love me there I hate it. There's this cat who lives there and his name is Tumbler and usually he picks on me but when I've been visiting he's been being nice to me. It made me real suspicious. Did you know that Tumbler steals stuff? He does, I heard the dr tell mom to keep her purse closed or Tumbler takes stuff. Boy is he brave.

For a while mom gave me yucky pills every day. I got really good at spitting them out. But mom is so stubborn she'd just give them to me again. I am so glad that is over.

Now I get to go out on the porch again and bask in the sunshine or even better than that I can go down on the lawn and find dirt to roll in. I love to roll in the dirt. It makes me so...... happy.

Mom says I'm all better now. She said she spent lots of money on me but I'm worth it. Now she gives me vaseline to eat so I won't get sick again. I hate to admit it but I kinda like it and mom brushes me much more than she used to. She says I had the most expensive hairball in history.

I don't feel so well

Last week I had a bad tummy ache and I was throwing up. It was so bad I accidentally threw up in my litter box and got a whole mouthful of gravel. Mom tried to help me clean my mouth and that's when she discovered something that scared her.

I knew she was scared because she started moving around very quickly and she put my in my carrier, took me to the car and we drove to the emergency room. We had to wait a long time. Mom was very worried. The dr didn't know what was wrong so he sent us home.

The next day mom took me to see my veterinarian Dr. Phillips. We like Dr. Phillips he used to take care of cheetahs and he's very gentle. Mom left me for the whole day and the Dr took pictures of my tummy. When mom came to get me Dr. Phillips told her he was very concerned about what my pictures showed. He took some of my blood for testing and mom made an appointment for me to have exploratory surgery.

I had my surgery yesterday and I have a big sore on my tummy and it hurts to lay down. I cried all night long.

Mom is so glad to have me home but she won't know for a while what is causing my tummy to ache so.
