Bacardi Gold is named after the famous Puerto Rican Rum because of his amber coloring.

"A rum made with the same blend of light spirits as Bacardi White Rum, but that is aged for up to two years and is not filtred again after its time in oak casks. The result is a smooth, amber-coloured rum with a fuller body and a pleasing wood flavour." (Taken from http://www.barnonedrinks.com/tips/dictionary/b.html#BACARDIG OLD)

"Like tequila, most Americans encounter rum in clandestine form- mixed in with Coca-Cola or all but hidden but within a daiquiri. But why not drink it straight? Why, indeed." (Taken from http://www.alcoholreviews.com/SPIRITS/bacardirum.html)
