Arrival Story:
Written the day I met Tiki: I went to a local shelter called Feline Friends. I spent a couple of hours there. I held about 7 kittens. I tried to hold each one for awhile so I could get a feel for them. First was a little black kitten. He was a crazy talker and wasn't especially friendly. Then, I held this siamese manx mix. She was tiny, with blue eyes. She looked like my childhood cat, Kasha, only with no tail. We played for about 20 minutes before I realized that I should check out some other kittens. So, then I held this dilute calico, named Misty. She was precious and sweet to me. Then, there were several others. This couple came in and started looking for a cat for one of the guys. They were looking at all the same kittens I had held. When I saw them get near the cage with the siamese manx. I told the woman that I wanted to hold her again. I didn't want them to fall in love with her. The woman got her for me and I held her for about 45 minutes more. I went around with her on my lap and even filled out all the adoption paperwork with her help. She is so beautiful. She's not cute, she's beautiful. She kept looking up at me and I fell in love. She makes me think of Kasha and of my mother and I just love her. She's only 8 weeks old. She hadn't had all the tests and shots she needs so they couldn't give her to me today. She's mine, though. I'll be able to get her next Saturday morning. I cannot wait.

Bio:
Tiki is a Siamese/Manx mix. She's got the coloring of a Siamese and the body type of a Manx. She has no tail, but she's cool with it. I asked her if she wanted to go on Extreme Makeover: Kitty Edition, but she didn't want to. She knows what's really important and that is sleeping and getting petted.
