I've been too sad to write much. Over three weeks ago, mom started putting all of her clothes in a red thing and disappeared. I looked for her in the closet, and under the comforter. I occasionally heard Dad say her name a few times while holding a black thing to his ear, but alas, no Mom.
Then a week later, dad started putting his clothes into a similar red thing. The next day I waited all day for him to return home like he always does, but no dad. Instead Aunt Martha stopped by to my relief. She fed me, and petted me, but didn't offer up any explanation to where my parents were. This went on for over a week, and before long, I began to really worry about Mom and Dad. Was Aunt Martha now my new mommy?
Finally after over two weeks of my MIA parents, I heard Aunt Martha unlock the door, and behind her were Mom and Dad with those red things. I was so happy. Mom and Dad seemed happy to see me too. We rubbed and kissed and cuddled all night. It was so good to have them back.
Although I was overjoyed to see them, something was still very wrong. My tummy hurt A LOT, and all I could do to tell Mom or Dad what was wrong with me was to yowl a lot. Dad thought I wanted my mouse, but Mom started getting worried. After several days of yowling, Mom took me to Dr. Kourtney, who told us that I had Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease with struvite crystals. I had to have several shots, but eventually the pain wasn't so bad. I'm still not feeling well, and I'm a bit mopy, but at least Mom and Dad are back. They've decided to delay my birthday party since I'm not feeling well. I am actually relieved, since there is talk of a mouse pinata, and I do enjoy a good mouse pinata.
XOXO,
Bruce
