Arrival Story: A year and a half ago, I was really sick from the chemotherapy treatments I was getting and desperately needed something to cheer me up. When I was sitting on my porch and this little, feeble ketten came wobbling up to me, crying. She weighed only 2 pounds, was wheezing and shivering, and had a tumor on her eye. We rushed her to the vets and it turns out she was about 6 months old, but severly malnourished and very ill. The vet told us to take her home and give her lots of love, but that she wasn't expecting the kitty to make it through the night. Although she never regained use of her eye, she flourished in our care, and quickly put on 5 pounds and gained lots of energy. It took a year of antibiotics and interferon to get rid of a chronic repiratory infection, but she's doing great now. We decided "Lucky" was a fitting name for her, and although I had every intention of finding her a good home when she got better (we already had four cats), she became my best friend and I could never part with her. We helped each other through our illnesses and we're both healthy and inseperable!

Bio: Lucky is sweet, silly and cuddly, and is always willing to take naps with me! She has just the one eye, so her depth perception is a bit off and she's kind of a clutz, but she manages just fine. She's really a model citizen except for her little nibbling problem. She loves to bite bare skin and noses, and will even sneak up and bite you in the rear when you are in the bathroom!
She's very attached to us, she's my little shadow all day long, except for when it's time for my husband to get home from work. About 6 o'clock, she starts patiently waiting in the window for my husband, getting excited every time a car drives by.
My husband and I both feel so "lucky" to have gotten to know this little critter!
