Belly rubs! Playing fetch, Pouncing on the feet of sleeping people
Nothing, this is a true Zen cat
stuffed cow, Puff balls
Favorite Nap Spot:
Top of the cat tree
She opens doors and cabinets and I think she may have opposable thumbs hidden away
I saw Desi's pic on a shelter website and I fell in love- she was called Calista by the shelter because she was so skinny! I went down to visit with her and she launched herself to the side of the cage and put her paw through towards me. I wanted her immediately but I was going out of town the next day for a week and knew I couldn't bring her home that day. The shelter wouldn't take a deposit to put her on hold so I decided if she was still there when I got back from my vacation I would bring her home. Needless to say, I spent my entire vacation worrying that someone else would adopt her and the next morning after I got back I was at the door of the shelter right as they opened.
Desi is not a cat. We think she may be a dog in a cat outfit. She is our door greeter- anyone who enters must acknowledge her first and foremost. And by acknowledge I mean follow her into the bathroom, as she runs ahead of you screaming her head off but looking behind her to make sure you are still following, so she can flop down on the bathroom floor for belly rubs. She can play fetch for well over an hour at a time. She will keep up a running conversation with you and she ALWAYS answers when you speak to her. She occasionally drags herself across the carpeting with her claws rather than walk. She loves to have her tail pulled gently and will continue to back up to you so you can keep pulling. Desi is the smartest cat I have ever met- I think she has a secret lab in the house where she is developing alternate sources of energy or a cure for cancer.

I didn't think so. Then why do mom and dad insist on treating me like one? They have this twisted game they like to play with me- they pick me up under my front arms so I am dangling and then sing "I'm a cat, I'm a kitty cat, I dance dance dance, and I dance dance dance" while bouncing me around. What on earth would make them think that I like that? They would never do that to a human baby, and I dare say I am quite a bit smarter and more dignified than a human baby. I try and act stoic about it, after all I can't put my grand plan into action if mom and daddy suspect anything funny is going on, but I feel so undignified after they play their sick games. They are lucky I am a lady and a lady doesn't bite. I may make an exception if they continue with this torture......
I got back at mom later that evening anyway. She is reading this book about vampires that is really creeping her out- so while she was reading I was laying quietly by her feet and I sat up suddenly and made my eyes go wide and my ears flat and looked around wildly as though I heard something. She got really freaked out, it was pretty funny. It made me feel better about my dancing ordeal.

Welcome! My name is Desdemona Lu-Lu Gladon, but you can call me Desi. If you are here reading my diary entry that means you are probably as much of a sucker for cats as my mom and daddy are, which bodes well for us cats. You see, I am in the process of staging a worldwide cat takeover and I've learned that with people like you who read these cat diary entries it is so much easier to pull the fur over your eyes... but I digress; I don't don't want to get into the details of my master plan just yet, I shall save that for a later diary entry. I will use these first few entries to introduce you to me and my brothers.
My oldest brother is Whiskey. He is quite a bit older than me- mom was very young when she had him - only in her teens- and he has a different daddy than me and my brothers- but my daddy has adopted him and loves him as much as he loves the rest of us. I've heard my mom talking about Whiskey's daddy and I can't repeat the language she used to describe him. Anyway, mom was probably too young at the time when she had him- she didn't know a whole lot about cats and she had his front claws taken out. To this day she really feels bad about it and so my brothers and I got to keep our claws, which is good- it would be hard to execute my grand plan without my claws! Anyway, Whiskey is kind of grumpy most of the time, but he welcomed me when I first came here and he cleaned my head a lot, so I really care about him. Since he's lost eight pounds he plays a lot more and is definitely more fun to have around.
Mom and Daddy call Charlie my big brother even though I am a few weeks older then him because he came here to live before I did. He sometimes tackles me and sits on me and makes me growl to get him off of me. But he's good to have around- he whines when mom is in the kitchen until she gives him a treat, and if she gives him a treat she gives the rest of one too so I owe him for that. He is also easy to trick. I like to lure him into Mom's room and then close the door and trap him inside.
Moo is my baby brother. I don't think that he is all there in the head, if you get what I mean, but he is fun to play with. He's also especially good at cleaning deep down in my ears where I can't reach, but he has this weird fetish of sticking his nose in my butt. Boys! I don't understand them most of the time! In December mom and Daddy moved to London for a semester and they couldn't take us with them. Whiskey and Charlie went to grandma's house and Moo and I were sent to Aunt Amy's. Since it was just him and I there we got much closer, but he's been a bit of a bully to everyone since we all got back together- Mom says he's trying to be top cat. I think he's just silly.
I hear I am getting another brother any day now, some cat with a silly name like Slurpee. I'll write more about that as soon as I know anything. I think I've divulged enough information about us right now, more to come later!
