 Quick Bio:
Likes: Mokey likes asking to go outside and then asking to come back in again! Also sleeping and tummy rubs.

Pet-Peeves: Being barked at for attention when she's trying to sleep.

Favorite Toy: Mokey doesn't play much with toys. Sometimes she'll chase bugs or her friends Pes and Wiggy. She doesn't really care about catnip but loves chewing leaves and eating grasses.

Favorite Nap Spot: The couch! She also enjoys the bed, the comfy chair, and the carpet if there's a sunbeam.

Favorite Food: Plain cat kibble, and semi-moist kitty treats. She will sit up for a treat.

Skills: Mokey is better than most cats at BEING SENSIBLE. She can go on road trips and go camping because she knows not to get lost.

Dwells:
indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story: Mokey was the culmination of many many years of begging for a cat. Christine had been asking for one since she can remember, and eventually broke her mom down when she was 15. Mokey was the cutest and nicest kitten at the Berkeley pound, and on the drive home first showed off her amazing voice. Her huge voice, single coat, triangle face (under a few extra pounds) and loyalty suggest some Siamese blood. She seemed to know Justin was destined to be her second person as soon as she met him, actually climbing into his lap almost immediately, which is very unusual for her. But when he got a new kitten, it took fully nine months of weekend visits before Mokey accepted HER. Eventually (especially after they moved in together) they became great friends. After that the puppy was not a challenging introduction -- Wiggy, unlike Pes as a kitten, will back off and show respect, so Mokey likes her just fine as long as she's not in a tail-biting mood. We think Mokey is a beautiful and wonderful girl, and so far really not showing her age! (She was born July '95)

Bio: Mokey is a real homebody. She's allowed outside and never wanders, and before we had a quiet patio she preferred not to bother going out at all. As a younger cat she didn't much like other cats or dogs, but she's adjusted very well to having another cat and a new puppy living with her, and even will snuggle with them these days. Mokey's always been a sweetheart and increasingly has become a lap-cat. She kneads too much and drools with contentment. She has her people Justin and Christine trained to let her in and out when she scratches the screen, and to feed her when she yowls. If you want to sit where Mokey is resting, she will not move on her own until you're practically sitting on her, at which point she gets up with an indignant "MOW!" She also has earned the respect and admiration of her younger "sisters." Mokey was raised with dogs and as a young cat, would sometimes catch mice and drop them (unharmed) into the dogs' toy basket. She once found a pet frog that had been missing in the house for a few days, and cornered him without injury. She likes to drink fishpond water the most, but with tapwater she will meow in complaint if it's not absolutely fresh. Mokey snores lightly like a person when she sleeps, and one of her most endearing habits is rolling over, dog-like, when you come near. She LOVES to have her tummy rubbed, and doesn't get overstimulated and bitey like some cats. Lucky for Mokey her belly is huge and very soft, so it's easy to get those tummy-rubs! Even if you just pet her belly with your foot as you walk by, she is happy.
