Arrival Story: Eventually we wanted to get a third cat, and a male, because Bean is a very active young male cat and likes to race around the house, much to the torment of Rosemary, a more sedentary female. We thought another young male for him to play with would be a good counterpoint and spare her some misery. Specifically, we were looking for an orange Maine Coon -- but we like to support rescues rather than breeders, so we thought we wouldn't find a suitable cat for a really long time. But one day I was buying food at Petsmart and I saw not one but TWO orange Maine Coon mixes in the rescue area. Usually Maine Coon "mixes" are hardly identifiable as Maine Coons, but Harry is very distinctively Coon -- he has the same face, big paws, long whiskers, and tufted ears. Long story short, I brought my husband in to meet him a week later (we dithered over bringing home another cat), and we took him home the next day.

Bio: Harry completes our cat "set" -- we have one of each color, both eye and coat. ;) Bean is a black cat with gold eyes; Rosemary is white with blue eyes; and now we have Harry, who is orange with green eyes. He is softer than you could possibly believe -- the vet said he was one of the handsomest cats he'd ever seen. But he is very lightweight, still being mostly a kitten (Maine Coons grow for a longer time than other cats). He is a very pensive cat, the most 'worry wartish' of our three, and if he wants something or feels the slightest bit insecure he will LET YOU KNOW. He is the baby of the family.
