Arrival Story:
One day I was with my brother walking around in the woods and I smelled food... I wanted food, I was in pain and I couldn't really see anything, but I sure could smell! Me and my brother went for the food and as soon as we found the food and was eatting we heard some noise and we were grabbed! Next thing I know we were in a nice warm house with food and water, I was still in a lot of pain but it was nice to eat! We went to this funny smelling place and this guy that my brother says was wearing a white coat looked at me and was poking me everywhere, he looked at my face and it hurt a lot, then I felt my eyes all wet... well after a few days of getting my eyes wet the pain started to go away. My fostermom Francine said that I had a really bad eye infection in both my eyes and that eye infection wasn't treated early enough so it took my sight away. That's okay though, I have my brother who can still see.. well at least out of one eye... he's my best friend. Well anyways, so a while goes by and then one day our fostermom said we were ready to be adopted, we can find our forever home. So she posted our pictures and our bios on www.petfinder.com and hoped and prayed that someone out there was willing to give me and my brother the love we needed. Many days went by and the phones rang but our fostermom was looking for a special person, someone she felt was right for us, that we could learn from them and they could learn from us. One day we were on our way out the door to the vets (that's what you call that guy at the funky smelling place in the coat) and I was going to get my eye looked at, it doesn't hurt but I heard them talking that it might have to come out well the phone rang just before we left... My fostermom answered it and talked with this women, she was talking to her for a while... she got off the phone and was so excited, telling us she thinks she just talked to our new mom... she sounds wonderful and is so excited to meet us... well we are meeting this Monday on 9-5-05 and I can't wait!!!

It's my birthday today! YIPPEE! Momma and Daddy have presents for us and a kitty cake! I can't wait! I was so excited this morning I was bouncing off the walls when momma woke up today! I can't wait until tonight for our party! Hopefully I'll get some neat new toys!

I have been trying very hard to figure out how to open the kitchen cabinets! Well I have succeeded twice now! Momma says I'm making her turn grey... whatever that means! Over the weekend I opened up the one with soup cans in it and I tossed 2 cans out of the cabinet and onto the floor.... almost hit my brother in the process but he's a big guy, he can handle it! :-) then last night I did the one with dishes in it, had a little trouble climbing up and knocked into some glasses but I got up and was hidding from momma, she came in to see what happened and she couldn't find me! LOL it was SO funny! So I stuck my little paw out and then she called in Daddy! He came in and couldn't find me either so again I stuck out my paw to wave hi to him and he opened the cabinet door on me! Momma says she has to child proof the kitchen from me... I say I'm not a child I'm a C-A-T!

Well my surgery was yesterday. Mommy dropped me off in the morning before going to work, I didn't want her to leave me so I started crying, that made mommy cry too and she felt really bad but I didn't know where I was! Then the doctor came and I remembered her so it was better. She put me in a kennel for a little bit until the room opened up where she was going to do the surgery. I don't remember the surgery, mommy says the vet put me to sleep so I wouldn't remember! When I woke up there was a LOT of pain in my eye and I didn't like it at all! The vet felt really bad and she gave me an injection!!!! OUCH! but soon after the pain started going away and I took a little cat nap. When I woke up again I felt MUCH better and wanted to play! Murphy wasn't around to play with so everytime someone walked by me I would stick out my paws and try to play with them, the vet told mommy I looked like a kitty in jail and she wanted to give me a cup to run along the bars! I don't think that's funny but mommy and daddy laughed....umm humans!
So then the vet let me out into an empty room and I got to stretch my legs, I started getting into everything in the room and she told me that I can't do that or I'll have to go back in the kennel... yeah I didn't listen and well mommy gives me a lot more "maggies No" then the vet, so pretty soon after I was back in the kennel! :-( But that's okay since mommy and daddy came not to much longer after that. I heard mommy's voice first and started meowing for her, she started to cry, she missed me that much! The vet chatted with them for a LONG TIME! And finally we left and were heading home! When we got home Murphy was so excited to see me! He kept jumping and putting his front paws up on the carrier telling mommy to let me out! She unzipped me and let me out and I ran around the house for a few minutes and then came back to mommy because I was really hungry!
After dinner my eye was bothering me a little and I started rubbing on it so mommy gave me some pain meds to ease the discomfort so I could sleep, those worked well, though mommy said something about a cone head if I didn't stop... don't know what that means but I doubt it's good! So after playing a while with Murphy we headed upstairs to bed and had a good nights sleep with mommy and daddy.
This morning though mommy gave me some yucky medicine, the stuff is NASTY and I wouldn't take it no matter what she mixed with it! I'm to smart for her, so she ended up having to do it striaght down my throat! YUCK I promised I would take it tomorrow with my food... it was really gross! Mommy tells me it's called Clindamycin and it's an antibodic so I don't get an infection in my eye socket... whatever it's still nasty! So today I'm back to my old self, jumping on everything and eatting as many treats as mommy will give me! and that's a lot because I think she feels bad!
I want to thank everyone for purring for me, means a lot that my friends were caring about me! Kitty Kisses to everyone! MEOW!
