Arrival Story:
When Mah-mah first came up to our house, we thought she looked pregnant. Turned out, she already had two little kittens, Indy & Misha. When they old enough to leave their mother, we took them in, but Mah-mah freaked out, and we had to let her go back outside. By the time her next litter (Presto, Missy, Remy, & Quinn) were weaned, she went right in a carrier for us, and we had her spayed, and she's been inside ever since.

In fall, 2006, we found a lump on Mah-mah's chest and had it removed. It was cancer. The vet believes he got it all, but only time will tell. We understand feline breast cancer is very aggressive. We can only love her, pray that she remains cancer-free, and give her the best life we can for as long as she is here with us. ***UPDATE*** July 6, 2007 - Mah-mah is gone. A few weeks ago, we found another lump. She had another surgery, but this week, she started breathing hard and her appetite seemed to decrease. When we took her to the vet, he did an x-ray and found that the cancer had spread to her lungs. She is buried near her son Quinn on the same rural property where she first came to us.
