My vet visit in July

Well, I must apologize to everyone for my Mom's lack of writing!
She has been busy leaving us for better things. Nothing is better than a cat, is what I say.

I went to the vet and he did something that surprised my Mom. He took me off my medicine for my heart.

Why? Well, he doesn't hear a murmur anymore. Dr. Thomas finds that strange because the medicine does not cure murmurs, it works with the heart.

Why did my heart murmur go away? We don't know, so this test with the meds gone will show that I either need them or I don't.

I am hoping those pills are gone forever. Mom hasn't seen any type of change in me. And believe me, she watches me all the time! *hnpf*

So thank you for the prayers and the love. Not sure what the next road has up ahead....but we are ready.

Another vet visit....

and it was horrible! Dogs were everywhere. *hiss*

One dog supposedly loved cats and wanted to see me. I was well hidden in the back of my box and Mom did not let the dog see me....but that strange man pet me! *i was really mad!!*

I tried to tell my Mom I did not swallow anything, but she didn't listen and took me in.

I may be having a food allergy with cat food. Dry cat food is OFF my list! I always LOVED dry and they have taken it away.

Mom said I can get dry again, but only as a test after the meds are gone....but she said it's probably gone forever. Something in it does not agree with me. *hmpf*

Food allergy....blah!
Medicine....blah!

I'm not happy and my Mom is now going on vacation!
I'm offended!

I guess I'll go and hit Baxter or Rusty. I'll feel better....

Not feeling well....

I'm just a little 8 lb cat, so when I lose weight, it shows.

Since my diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy a few months ago.....I have been losing weight.

The vomiting had stopped, but it's back now. Not sure if it's diet related or heart related, so I'll be off to the vet on after a consultation over the phone with Mom.

My vet told Mom that cats statistics of HCM are grim. Most cats die within 2 year of diagnosis.

For now, I cannot eat any type of dry food--only pouches.

Will update again when things are more clear.

Mom did WHAT?

Oh I am so mad!!

Mom called the vet today and got more medicine for me! We had 2 more days of pills left....and I thought I was done.

Then she says to me, "Pi. I've got to get you more medicine!!"

*hiss*

I'm so disgusted.

Now I have to start all over.

My vet appointment

Mom pulled a fast one on me today. She pretended things were 'normal.' They weren't!!

After the kid left for school, Mom started getting ready for her day. I told her she was late for work because she was late feeding ME!! She said something about having the day off.

After her shower, she disappears to the garage to get the box--the CAT box! YIKES!! I ran but then noticed that Mom cleverly shut all the doors. *hmpf*

After a couple of tries to get me in the box, Mom finally won. I had to let her.

I told her on the way to the car, this was unfair....but she didn't listen and drove me to the vet.

Dr. Thomas listened to my heart. He says it's around a grade 2 heart murmur. Things are going well for me and I'm supposed to go back in 6 months. Hmmm....I think I'll be busy then!

The medicine will not change unless water starts to gather around my heart.

So, I'm off to try and get rid of the vet smell! I think it's gonna take ALL DAY!

Meows....

Hello all cats!

I've decided that Mom is also updating my diary, since she has done Rusty's.

So as I sit here and stare, she types what I tell her.

I've been doing well since being on my heart medicine. I go back to the vet next week! *hiss* I've been telling Mom I'm fine, but she says to me "too bad Calie girl--you are keeping your appointment!*

*shocked look*

Does she not know that I don't *need* a vet telling me what to do? But alas, I will lose this vet battle next week.

I shall try and update before my vet appointment, but if not....I will be sure and nag Mom when we get home.

My vet visit today....

it did not go well.

First, my Mom gave me a mild sedative to calm me down for the trip. Rusty and Baxter were teasing me and how I was walking....or struggling to walk, I should say.

I have some fleas, thanks to Baxter. *sticks out tongue* However, we are on Revolution and Mom has more cat spray and carpet flea killer....so those should be gone.

Today, I was diagnosed with Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Mom noticed that when she plays we me now, I tire much faster. She told Dr. Thomas, but then he heard a heat murmur. He did some blood work to rule out thyroid problems and it did. My thyroid is fine.

Now I am on medicine for the rest of my days and I have to go back to the vet in January. The vet does not want me drugged up, he wants to see how I am on a normal basis--heart wise.

Mom will try and stay positive, but in the end there is no cure.

It's my birthday!

Well, at least that is what Mom says. The person who gave me to Mom said I and my brothers were born about a week before July 4th. So....today is the day that was guessed! I'll take it.

I'm now 5! Mom can't believe she and I have been together for 5 years. I'm still the Queen of the house. No matter how many other cats come and go....I shall stay the Queen.

So, happy birthday to all the other cats today!

I think I shall have Rusty wait on me.

Nervous Nelly!

That's what Mom calls me.

You see, I thought I was going to the vet today. I saw Rusty all in his harness.

To make sure I wasn't going.....I did greet Mom when she came home from work....didn't want to give her a reason to take me....and then when I felt there was enough love shared....I high tailed it to my secret spot.

It was sweet victory for me when Mom left with the boys.

Rusty is fine, but Baxter has an infection. Not sure where he contracted the infection--probably the neighbor cat. Baxter thinks he owns our house and the two next to it. *sigh* He'll never learn.....and he shows no fear, even when sick.

So, purr for Baxter. Mom didn't want to believe there was something wrong....she feels sick when one of us is sick.

Sammy is very sick with a heart disease.

Please pray for him.....every cat! Sammy is too young to have this disease.
