I caught my first mouse! I know to some of you that might be trivial, but I am an indoor cat and don't have many opportunities at this. OK, it was a tiny field mouse and yeah I am kinda sorry I killed it. But my dad was SOOO proud of me. You should have heard and seen him heap the praises on me!!!
I stalked the mouse all night and waited for my chance to pounce. The mouse ran about, squeaking it's mighty war cry. I was not afraid. I remained patient. It made it's move: "squeak-squeak-squeak!" I swatted it across the floor. But it was a tough mouse and it got right back up and hid in the closet. Again, I patiently waited. Suddenly it sprung out again. The classic "cat and mouse" battle was on again. This time the mouse was not so lucky. Game over.
It was a worthy adversary but in the end, the mighty jungle warrior Aedan had defeated his foe. ROAR!!!!!!!
I feel like I became a man-kitty today. The right of passage that the mouse symbolized a threshold into a new era in my life. Now just watching birds from a window doesn't seem enough. I want to chase them! I have the need for the thrill of the hunt! *SIGH* Oh well, I guess it's back to dreaming about being a fierce warrior until the next mouse sneaks into the house.
Put one mouse notch in my belt!
