Gotcha Date: February 7th 2004 Birthday: December 5th 2003 Coloration: Orange Likes: Running around, causing a commotion, eating, stalking, attention Pet-Peeves: meals served late, the carrier, dad's driving habits, being brushed, the v*t Favorite Toy: Yellow monkey - it is my "baby" and I take it wherever I go *UPDATE* My yellow monkey is missing :( Favorite Nap Spot: Perch on top of my scratching post, in any box or cubby hole Favorite Food: Fancy Feast Chicken Feast and SALMON! Skills: I can open and close doors (cabinets, refrigerator, bedroom, etc...), I snore, I fetch, I understand "human" Dwells:
indoors Arrival Story: The first memories I have are of an apartment near a lot of water (I heard someone say that we were in Long Island, NY but I don't know what that means). A human came one day (I was 8 weeks old at the time) and I sorta liked him. I decided to adopt him to do all my menial tasks, like prepare my food, clean my poop, etc. But the first thing this guy did was stick me into this little "carrier" - more like a cheap overnight bag. It took me all of 30 minutes to escape from it and start roaming around his car. He got mad. What's the big deal? Let me stuff YOU into a tiny blue suitcase and see how YOU like it!!!
I like my home. It has stairs and lots of stuff to climb on. I have my own personal bathroom. That is good because I like my privacy. My dad is nice to me. He buys me lots of toys and makes sure I have food and treats. I wish he was around more often to play with but he says he has to go to someplace called "work". I don't know what that is but it doesn't sound like too much fun. My dad and I are now bestest buddies and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. Bio: Aedan is from a litter of 5 kitties; all of them buff or orange in color. I will try to post more pics of Aedan but he NEVER STANDS STILL so it is hard to snap anything but an orange blur. How I Got My Name: Dad saw me and thought I looked like an Aedan. Actually Aedan is Gaelic for "fiery". He thought that was a good name for an orange cat. But it really is more descriptive of my personality. I am very fiery. And dad says I have a bit of an anger management problem. Oh yeah??!!! Come over here and say that!!! Er I mean, what ever are you talking about?
Eight years ago today I met my dad for the first time. I walked into my forever home for the first time. I felt loved for the first time. Dad says I'm the best thing that ever happened to him in his life and he loves me more than the whole world put together. I feel the same way about you dad. Happy Gotcha Day #8!
Wow I can't believe I'm 8 years old! Dad says I'm still a little baby but I'm pretty sure that 8 is big boy territory! I asked dad if I could have a special dinner tonight and he said yes! Now to decide what I want... hmmm... I think maybe a turkey dinner. Dinner is such a long way off. I know I'll be dreaming about eating turkey all day today.
A Schoolhouse Rock video about the number 8... dad said this was around when he was 8 (I think 100 years ago):
