Arrival Story:
Mom's aunt had a friend who lives in the country. She said one of the barn cats that lives in the garage loft gave birth to kittens so she brought them in the house. She offered one of my brothers and sisters to Mom, but the one she wanted turned out to be a boy. She picked me because I was the cutest!

Bio:
Me and Mom's sister's cat Angelica look like twins. We're both tortoiseshell with similar markings, except I have that cool gold spot over my eye that got Mom lots of A's in photo class. In the mornings, I like to growl at the neighbors as they walk out to their cars. But I don't like the car. Sometimes at night or during the day if me and Mom are both tired, I'll crawl under the covers and go down by her feet, and after awhile I'll attack! Mom wanted me to add the stories to those goofy pictures of me. The one with two arms around my tummy: Mom used to have this blue chair under the window at the old house. When Mom was gone, Gramma took one of those toy monkeys with the long arms and legs that Velcro at the ends and hung it from the curtain rod. She said it matched because it was yellow. Mom thought it was funny and hung another black one from the yellow one. One of my favorite nap spots was up on the top of the chair, so I went up there to sleep one night while Mom was on her computer. All the sudden, the dog started barking downstairs and I freaked out! Rather than jump down onto the seat like I always did, I tried running off the end of the chair, but something stopped me. Turns out I had run straight through the arms of the monkey! I was stuck! Mom had to pull the two monkeys down, but before she let me free she had to take a picture. Aren't I weird? The one with me and that yellow dog: Mom wanted to take a picture of me and the dog before she went off to college. She followed me around all morning waiting for me to do something cute. Well, I was getting sick of her, so I ducked under the coffee table hoping she'd get the message. I guess when I ran, I caught the dog's attention, and she sat down next to Mom. Then the dog was curious about me being down there, and stuck her nose under. I was curious about this little wet brown thing, so I had to smell it. Mom was lucky she had that camera because I'll never do that again! Then there's the picture of me with one of my favorite toys. Mom got it for me and she thinks it's the funniest thing, especially when I chew on his head.

The Life of a Bratty Cat

But I like my claws!

It took Mom FOREVER to find an apartment. Everybody around here is awfully stingy on their pet policies-- an extra fifty bucks a month for little ol' me and the black fuzz machine?! Then they tell Mom I've got to be declawed. Why?! I'm a good kitty! I don't claw carpet, I just claw Mom's computer chair! Mom begged and pleaded but they wouldn't budge. Not a single place. Mom didn't have a choice-- she picked a place that was a good price, took the black beast without too many questions, but wouldn't take me. I know, it's so sad that she can't bring me along, but luckily Gramma likes me enough to let me stay here. I'm fifteen minutes from Mom (that's a two hour walk) and she's here at Gramma's a lot anyway. Plus, my twin sister Angelica IS declawed, so all her records look identical to mine except for the declawing thing, so if Gramma gets sick of me, we'll play a little game of switch 'em with the records and I'll go back to being the only kitty of the house. That extra toed cat and that black one that snorts are too weird. They're just cramping up my style.

Not again!

Mom decided we have to move again! She is going to change schools (again) so we're going to move back to some place close to where Gramma lives. She's all stressed out because no one has apartments for a thirty pound dog (not that I care!) and a sweet lil kitty like me who still has her claws. I never claw anything I'm not supposed to, I promise! Anyway, now Mom is in the process of putting things in boxes, and she's going back to the old house every weekend to move the old junk. I like when she's gone because that darn dog goes with her so I have a few days to myself. Speaking of that dog, I think she's sick. Mom better take her to the vet. Mom said I need to go to the vet for some shots, but I don't want to go! No way! I hate the vet! Almost as much as I hate riding in the car. Hrmph!

New friends!

This past weekend, Mom got home from work and Gramma came over! They left for a few hours, and when they came back they had two cats with them. Mom didn't adopt them (thank goodness) because she knows I'm the queen of this house. They were Gramma's new cats. She was sad because her black cat Grace died last month, so she got two from a shelter in Stoughton. Mom says they're really cool cats. One of them is just a baby! Good thing I didn't get to him, because I'd have beat him up. He's a tuxedo kitty and he loves to play with Gramma's two dogs. I don't know why; I didn't like those dogs very much! The other cat is really special. She's older, maybe 3 or 4, and she's gray and white. The coolest thing about her is that she is polydatyl. She has a "thumb" on her front two paws, but on the back paws she has a thumb with TWO claws on it! That's 22 claws to scratch up the couch and 22 claws to swipe at those dumb dogs. How lucky. Mom really wanted to go back and adopt this little orange cat named Sebastian. He was really affectionate; he liked to sit on Mom and Gramma's necks and purr. Gramma didn't get him because the lady at the shelter told us that he isn't nice to little kids, and that wouldn't be good because Mom's sister is going to have a baby soon. Speaking of that, Mom's sister has two cats-- the tortie who looks just like my twin, and Paige (or Pete as Mom likes to call him) who is a regular ol' orange tabby. Auntie Meaghan doesn't think that her two kitties will be nice to be baby when it's born so Mom thinks SHE might get the cats. Angelica may be pretty and a princess at Auntie's house, but if she comes to live with me, I'M still the queen! Mom is trying to move this summer so she doesn't have to be away for such a long time when she's at class and she's having so much trouble finding a place to live with a dog and cat. Why are landlords so mean?! I am much more of a handful than a dog, especially since more people are allergic to cats than dogs, and cats claw carpet and screens, and could leave messes on the carpet. I just wish Mom could find somewhere to live that didn't cost so much money! They should have a prettiest pet contest so I could win some money for her, because after all, I AM the cutest cat ever. And that dog's okay, if you want to look at her.
