Arrival Story:
This is a difficult one to tell...very emotional. This is my mom's cat and Petra's housemate. Anyway, she was born to one of my mom's outside cats. Her and her brother B.J. were the sweetest kittens in the world. Mom fell in love with Little Bit because she always played with her toes when she went to feed. Mom took both B.J. and Little Bit to get them vetted and spayed/neutered. B.J. and Little Bit were very close, they slept together and went everywhere together. One day, B.J. wouldn't eat and mom knew something was wrong. Pretty soon, he started looking pregnant. Mom rushed him to the vet, but the news wasn't good. The vet diagnosed B.J. with FIP and B.J. didn't return home with mom. Bitty was very lonely without B.J. and not long after that, we found bitty laying in the chair on the front porch, which was unusual. SHe wouldn't come play with mom's toes, so something was wrong. Mom yelled at me and I went out to check her out. When I went to move her, she kind of let a yelp out. SHe didn't growl or hiss. I looked and noticed her back leg was very swollen and had a gash on the inside. We quickly called the vet, but he was off that day and we had to wait until the next day. THe news wasn't good. After looking at the X-Rays the doctor explained that her leg was so fractured and broken, there was practically no chance of ever putting her back together. The best decision was to amputate. After calming my mom down and reassuring her that she would be fine, we decided to go ahead. Well, the amputation went well and we brought Little Bit home and she finally got what she wanted, a nice comfy indoor home. Well, something was wrong with her nerves in her amuptated leg. She would throw these unimaginable fits during the night and just go nuts. The doctor said it was where he had to reattach the nerves. Finally, mom couldn't handle it anymore and I had to take her and nurse her back to health. Well, I did and now she is perfectly fine and you couldn't prove to her that she only has 3 legs and she is faster than most of those with 4.
