Arrival Story: In the fall of 1995 a cat with 3 kittens was found in our yard. Sneakers was one of the kittens. He, like the other cats started out eating in our yard and taking shelter in our garage. It didnt take very long for him to trust us so he has been living in our house for the majority of his life.

Bio: January 2010 I noticed an abnormality in one of Sneakers' eyes. His pupil remained fully dilated, even in bright sunlight. After a trip to the vet we found out Sneakers has glaucoma and is now blind in that eye and the underlying reason for the glaucoma is because he is FIV+. I didn't see that coming and was so upset for him as well as concerned for the well-being of my other 4 cats. Luckily Sneakers is not a fighter so there haven't been any other issues with any of my other cats coexisting with Sneakers. Over the past year and a half since his diagnosis the only major changes I've noticed is his trouble figuring out how to use the litter box (I had to keep a wee wee pad in front of the litter box now because he doesnt seem to remember how to go in any more) and in general he seems a little disoriented and confused at times. He has kept his weight up, still has his voracious appetite, still breaks up fights if he hears one going on, still wants to be near people and still enjoys his time outside lying in the sun (after adjusting to being attached to a lead. No more wandering or adventuring for him)
