Oh, hello! It seems I have been asked to post five fabulous facts about myself. Well, after much careful consideration, here they are:

Grandma, I am NOT a ragdoll.

Have you ever seen Olympia Dukakis' chartacter in "Look Who's Talking"? The Grandma who gushes and coos like a whacko? That's my Grandma, who arrived in town yesterday to see Mommy.

This is the problem with being a patient and gentle kitty - you get treated like a ragdoll. On her last visit, Grandma squeezed me so hard I thought my legs would fall off and my eyeballs would pop out, all the while telling me how pretty I am. Then she was suprised when I ran away and hid - that's humans for ya.

So yesterday she shows up and starts her high-pitched gush again...but this time it wasn't quite as bad. Well.....she did hold me on her lap, and once she picked me up, put me in "baby position" (when you're on your back on the human's lap or arms) and sang "Rock a Bye Baby" :O) But no squeezes so far, thank Katz.

Now you may ask: why does my sister Zoe not have to put up with this? Well, besides being a little less gentle and far less patient than I am, she has an injury that limits her handling tolerance. Both of her hips were dislocated when she was a homeless kitty :( Only a few people know how to hold her without hurting her, and she does NOT do the "baby position" for anyone, not even Mommy. She has been known to get really, really, really mad at anyone - even Mommy - if over-handled. And not b/c she doesn't like Mommy, she adores her b/c she rescued her.

Oh well......at least Grandma doesn't live locally. Perhaps if Mommy has a human baby, then Grandma will leave me alone....hmmmmmm........

I came from a rescue group.

I can sit up and play "maneki neko" by holding up one paw.

I actually like to drink water.

Sometimes I grunt when I purr.

My favorite toy is a little soccer ball.

My Daddy is my hero, because he carried me out of PetSmart.

I am a master at "The Bed Game". I love it when Mommy makes the bed :D)

Zoe and I are playing!!!!

YAYYYY...finally, she'll let me! She still hisses at me now and then - not sure why - but overall she seems to be OK with me being here.

We run around the house a lot. So much fun! She has all these awesome toys she lets me play with, too. Sometimes she'll decide she wants to play with a toy after I start playing with it, but that's OK - she has so many, I can just find another one.

Does Zoe like me yet?

I can't tell....just when I think she won't hiss at me any more, she does. We can be in the same room together and everything's fine, so I try to approach her.

Each time, I can get a little closer, but still...I always manage to get too close and then she lets me have it......guess that's her way of saying, "I'm still in charge, sweetie!"

But that's OK. Like I said, I don't have to be the boss - just happy to have a permanent home. I just wish she'd let me play with her. I watch her play, and I want to join in so bad! But she won't let me. Maybe someday.

Love my new home, but Zoe still doesn't love me....yet

I've been here for almost a week now. My new Mommy and Daddy are wonderful, but there's this funny-looking cat here named Zoe (she's got these strange little brown patches on her....what's that all about?)

Anyway....well, I try to be nice to her, I really, really do. But she still hisses at me sometimes. Granted, not as often as the first day, but still.... I wish she'd see that I didn't choose to invade her territory. Mommy and Daddy didn't tell me there was anoother kitty where they were taking me.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I am so very happy to have been adopted. Maybe one day Zoe will be as well.
