Arrival Story:
Like a little black ghost hardly visible, she ran out of thunderstorm one night into my arms while I was on the front porch watching the clouds. I was surprised and felt an instant welcoming for this scrawny wet orphan who knew exactly who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. I was Chosen. Two months after Whisper came, here was another precious and sweet soul who made every step of every day and watched over me constantly. She showered me with kneeding paws against my chest. Little intent eyes peering into mine, gently nudging my cheeks giving me kisses on quiet evenings. She and Whisper always together playing or sleeping, they were never cross with one another. Two years later, they both corraled the new babies and became instant mothers to Scooter and brother Tiggy who had been found abandoned in the neighborhood. I had never really been a Cat Person before the 1980s, now I had 4 wonderfully sweet kitties. Sadly, we had to put Tiggy's sister to rest two weeks later because of genetic deformity. Tiggy was similarly afflicted but his seemed more of a blessing than a problem. This endeared him even more to our Zero and her white sister. My darling Zero knew my heart better than any pet I had ever known and always there to comfort and shower me with kisses.

Bio:
When Tiggy died, Zero never seemed to leave my side the following year. I was so grieved and morose, I didn't realize she may have felt the greater grief. Days were long and joyless curled up inside myself missing my Tigger. My kitties would join me in this silent ritual and watch in patient loyalty. If they yearned for a gentle caress or the old familiar cat banter, they kept the vigil for hope.
