My human and I are travelling from Potland OR to Cape Breton Nova Scotia and back (in the Fall) in a teardrop trailer and a Subaru Baja! I was scared at first, but she gave me something that makes me feel really good, and within 60 miles of home I realized that I wasn't going to the vet. Of course, my human drove me all over town before leaving to let me get used to the idea of being in the car, and we slept together in the teardrop for several days before leaving. She also brought my favorite blanket.
I am an impeccable shot-gun rider, every 15-20 miles or so I talk conversationally to my human. She has a pop-up tent style cage for me which is stupid, and a silly harness and leash for me which is vulgar, but I put up with all this because I like to be near her. I yell until I am let out of the cage, and the harness, and then I revolve my position around the car according to where the sun is coming in. I really want to be sitting on her lap, but that only happens if there is a lonley, straight road somewhere with no traffic, which isn't nearly as much as I'd like!
Our only argument was when I wanted to go the one place I am not allowed, and that is by her feet. My human finally pulled off the road and let me go down there, and after all my efforts, there was only foot odor and dirt. I was non-plussed (see photo). I know, I know, curiosity and the cat and all that!
So far, I have been though Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, and am about to go into South Dakota today to see Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. The high point was being in Yellowstone, and looking out the window eye-to-eye with a bull buffalo...man, are they homely! Yesterday we came through the Black Hills, and at 9,000 feet, I wouldn't call them hills! Well, my human is rattling that annoying leash again, so it is time to go! Ta ta!
