Annoying banging unsuccessful

This morning was my parents' only opportunity to sleep in for the week. I knew they really wanted to get up early, like me, so I banged repeatedly on the door and meowed. It didn't work! They wouldn't let me in so I could jump on their heads and wake them up. Eventually I gave up and went away, but still, this puzzled me greatly.

In brighter news, I did manage to attack dad's feet twice today.
