Arrival Story:
Tikka was brought into a local cat rescue where my daughter was a volunteer, I happened to be helping her one Sunday, Tikka had been brought in on the Saturday, He was in a very bad way, we could see that he probably had some sort of kidney problem, He was taken to see the vet on the Monday and was diagnosed as having final stage chronic renal failure, but as he seemed to be not in much discomfort the decision was made not to have him p,t,s. Tikka was taken back to the rescue and my daughter offered him a home for however long he had left,( the vet said it was only a matter of about two weeks at the most), however my daughters other cats wouldn't accept poor Tikka so he came over with me, my other cats accepted him with no problem. Tikka proved to be a very loving cat always wanting to be loved or up on my lap, he was a very smelly cat when he came to me and it was clear that at some stage he had been incontinent and was not able to clean himself, I gave him a bath after giving him a couple of days to settle, he didn't mind a bit, poor thing was so thin he was no more than a skeleton covered in skin, Tikka lived with me for about six weeks , on the day that he went to the bridge he was lying in his usual spot in the conservatory in the sun, I walked past him and as usual he rolled over to have his tummy tickled, which of course I did. Ten minutes later I came back in and Tikka had gone to the bridge, thankfully so quickly and peacefully. He died 0n 12April 2004.
Bio:
The look that Tikka always had in his eyes will never leave me, it was such a sad look that almost said "now I have found love and warmth and happiness and it's too late." If only we had found you sooner, He was only about seven years old as far as the vet could tell. In the six weeks that Tikka was with me I fell in love with him. All Tikka ever wanted was to be loved and to give love.
