A day for Remembrance. .

Wow, Daily Dairy Pic again today. I don't know what to say but Thank you. Thank you also to all my friends who left me comments and sent me gifts I love them and I feel honoured to be one of your friends.
Started off a wet day today, so I wasn't that bothered when mom went to work, by the time she got back it had dried up and the sun was out so I had my tea and went out for a bit but it wasn't very warm and no one else was interested in going out. Mom says its typical of us cats, she spends money on cat proofing the back garden and we hardly want to go out.
I know some of you have had a Memorial Day this weekend, today our family remembered one of our own. Fluff, who went to the bridge 2 years ago today. The Fluff monster was found as a stray by mom who had spent months looking for Pootle who had gone missing. She was called Fluff as temporarily as we expected her owners to claim her but no one did and by then she responded to Fluff. Fluff had about 6 happy years with us until she was found to have a tumour in her mouth under her tongue and nothing could be done for it except to help keep her comfortable. She passed to the bridge when she was ready, lying on the sofa with mom beside her. We cant believe its been 2 years, time flies by so quickly but the heartache remains.
Thank you for all her gifts, it brought tears to moms eyes and it makes us realise how much Catsters care about one another.

They're Only Ours for a Little While

We humans are prone to chase rainbows,
always wanting that pot of gold.
But the wisest of us remember the joy
of just a small creature to hold.
Allow yourself to accept their great gift,
and know what devotion is worth.
If you've been loved by a dog or cat,
you're the richest person on earth.
But their lives are lived in miniature-
bright sun to palest moon.
They bless our days with innocence,
and faithfulness that's stilled too soon.
These precious lives are fragile,
as fleeting as a baby's smile.
So give them all the love you have.
They're only ours for a little while.
And in the lonely moments
when you pause to wonder why,
hold close those brightest shooting stars
that burn so briefly in our sky.
But then look deeper in your heart
to know all love must intertwine,
and when the night sky seems the darkest,
you'll see their light forever shine.

Give your moms and dads extra nudges today and remind them how special we are.
