Arrival Story:
This is Bixby's second time around with me. He lived previously in a different body, but that one became sick with cancer. I had been in contact with someone that can communicate with animals, and once he crossed over, he said that he'd come back to me and that he wanted to be reborn into an orange body. I was told that I would have a dream about him, and that would be the signal to me that he had found a new body, and in fact, upon further reflection, I'm almost 100% positive that I had the dream on the very same day that he was born....February 5th. I called the animal communicator and she told me how it would be that I would find him. She said that it would be that someone I work with would know someone whose cat had kittens, and also that I would have to drive across town to get him. I began telling everyone at work to let me know if they heard of any kittens being born. Several weeks went by without any news. I was getting discouraged, and I began to doubt if he would ever come back. But then one evening, a nurse had been pulled to my unit and told me that one of the patients she was caring for that night had a cat that recently had kittens! I immediately went to speak with the patient, and she gave me the phone number of the person caring for the cat and her litter while this person was in the hospital. I called the number the next day after I got home and told the woman my story. She told me she was very sorry, but the last 2 orange males had already been chosen. I was devastated, and I think it was apparent in my voice. I called her back 10 minutes later, and she told me she talked the person out of taking both orange males. He took one of the gray females along with the orange male, which left an orange male and gray female. I left within 15 minutes of this call and I drove quite a long way from my home to get them, but it was worth it! When I got there, she brought him out to me, and I knew it was him. The first thing he did when she gave him to me was to climb up my arm and sniff my hair (this was something he used to always do before), then he crawled back down and curled up in the crook of my arm and fell asleep. How many 6 week old kittens will fall asleep in a strangers arms? He came home with me that very night, and every day he'll do something else that he did in his previous life to remind me that, "Yes, mom, it's really me!" I am forever grateful to the person that made our reunion possible. She was actually surprised that he came back so quickly...only about 6 weeks passed from the time the original Bixby died to the time when he was reborn. She asked him why he came back so soon, and his reply was that my heart called him back, and said "My mom needs me." I am so happy to have him back again, and I will treasure every moment we have together!

As you can probably tell from his pics, he's quite a ham who loves having his picture taken!! He's also quite the charmer!! He's also perfected the art of the silent "Meow"! He'll open his mouth wide, but no sound will come out!
