Arrival Story:
Dodger was rescued by a member of the Yolo County SPCA. She was driving and saw a group of kids throwing stones at something. She pulled over and discovered they were throwing rocks at a small black kitten. She picked him up and asked if anyone owned this kitten. The kids all ran away and Dodger came to be a foster in the Yolo County SPCA. Dodger hated going to placement. He would turn his back and never look a the people who came in to see the cats. He loved his foster home. Eventually, he persuaded me that he was mine. Dodger is a caretaker cat. He helped me take care of the foster kittens until he decided that it was another cat's job. If I don't feel well, he will try to make me feel better by grooming me and purring.

tomorrow we are celebrating our best month ever for adoptions. In January we adopted 38!! Join with my family on the Power of purr to purr long and loud for rescues and forever homes!!!

We have our totals for 2009. We adopted 222 cats/kittens. We didn't quite reach our goal of 250 but we didn't do badly. Of course our goal this year is 300. We have started off really well with lots of adoptions in January & one more Saturday to go. Keep on supporting rescue groups nationally and in your community. Join with us on the Power of purr to purr for rescues and forever homes!!!

Today we will be taking our adoptable cats/kittens to Petco to see if some of them can find their forever homes. Please support your local rescue groups. If you aren't ready to adopt--donate--if you can't donate money--give time--or as our local Petco does buy a little extra food if you can or an extra toy & give that. You would be surprised what most of our local groups do with very little. Keep on purring on the Power of purr for rescues & forever homes. Remember rescue rocks!!!
