Arrival Story:
Claire came from a litter of feral kittens who, along with their mother, were rescued from a local neighborhood last fall. She and her brother were adopted before Christmas but returned to foster care after a couple of weeks because the family couldn't commit to them. After giving the kittens time to calm down, I adopted the male, now named Peter, who was the shyer of the two. Claire was adopted again right before Easter but her new family moved this past weekend and left her behind. After spending two weeks back in foster care, Claire was adopted by a very kind area priest who lost his 16 year-old-cat to cancer last year. She blossomed in his care and became a real lap cat. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his beloved white cat. Rather than subject her to the trauma of yet another new home, I decided to keep Claire myself. She's currently a little scared and confused, but seems happy to be reunited with her brother, Peter. Claire is finally home.
