Arrival Story: One day I went out of the back door and saw a dirty brown cat outside, I didn't take much notice of it as strange cats often pass through, but it was hanging around for days so I started to put food out for it, which was gratefully accepted, he was very wary and wouldn't come near, but after a couple of weeks he gained confidence and started coming closer, it took six weeks of quietly talking to him before he let me touch him, I decided he could stay and he started coming in, though he still wasn't washing himself properly, but he started to do that after eight weeks, it was about then that I found out who was supposed to be looking after him, the man was about to be evicted and wouldn't be taking Gazz with him, so with his aggreement I took Gazz on officialy, by then I knew he was a ginger and white tom, un-neutered,. Off he went to the vet, he became a lovely, good tempered very loving cat, unfortunatly before I took him in he had started to develope skin cancer, on his ears, the vet and myself kept an eye on it but part of both ears had to be removed, along with several lumps on his body, he came home from the vets looking like a patchwork quilt, but he soon recovered, then we found out that the cancer had got to his nose, but the vet didn't want to use lazer treatment as he had found a heart murmer, in spite of all this Gazza went on as usual and charmed all who met him, then in late September 2004 he got fluid on the chest and had trouble breathing, the vet took him into hospital for treatment which at first seemed to work but on the day I went down to bring him home he had been ill again so he had to stay two more days, the day that I was supposed to phone to see when he could come home I got a phone call early in the morning to say Gazza had gone to the bridge during the night in his sleep. I never did find out his age, Bless you Gazz, till we meet again.
Bio: Gazza went to the bridge on 4th October 2004.
