Today is my Gotcha Day! Meow!

Thank you Catster and friends for remembering that Nike and I celebrate our gotcha days today because Mom forgot! She has been forgetting these special dates lately and for some reason didn't have it on the calendar either.

Nike and I were just talking about our first bath together in the bathroom sink and how much fun we had being in our own room the first couple of weeks. We always got excited when Mom or Dad would open the door to see us and would meow and run to greet them.

We sure grew up to be the biggest kitty boys in the house!

Our 7th Birthday!

Nike and I turned 7 today!

Last night at exactly 11:59pm, I jumped up on the bed to knead on Mom, so that's where I was when I turned 7! I nearly sat on Pebbles who was already there, so she gave me a few smacks to wish me a Happy Birthday!

Mom is a little sad that we're already 7 (MOL), but happy that we're part of the family.

Thank you to my wonderful friends for the gifts and messages you sent me today! Some of your messages sure made me "jiggle in the middle!"

Spies!

We got a wireless security camera for the front porch recently and it came with an extra one for inside the house. Dad set the second one up so it faces the stair landing where Huey likes to hang out, and it's the way upstairs for all of us.

Last night while they were enjoying Christmas dinner with Mom's family, they were able to see Huey on the landing waiting for them to come home and also caught Joy and I sitting on the stairs! They got a kick out of watching us and sharing it with the family.

Good thing I wasn't cleaning myself at the time....

Reebok to the rescue!

Mom's right arm has been sore from using the computer too much the past week or so cropping photos and stuff. Then she has to use the computer at work too.

Soooo...being the power kneader in the house and the one who always kneads Mom's right arm every night, she has been encouraging me to give her good massages on her arm.

It's nice to feel "kneaded".

Workout!

Huey thinks he's a cool dood now because he can climb all the way upstairs. He can also fit through the opening in the pet gate for the bedless bedroom where we wine and dine, so my parents had to shut the "real" door to the room whenever Huey was awake because he's eaten cat food twice! Fortunately, he's not interested in the litter boxes in the adjoining bathroom.

From the hallway upstairs, the adjoining bathroom door has a "cat hole cat door with brush" in it. Well, that's great except I can't fit through it! Nike can because he's not extra wide like me. The reason the dood can't fit through it is because he has a big head.

*SIGH*

So now there's a gate on the stair landing to keep Huey from going upstairs. It's leaning there so all the cats can go through the sides but once again, I can't, so I have to jump over it and land on the steps!

Hope the dood hurries up and gets too big to fit through the pet gate so I don't have to work so hard to get to my food!

Our 6th Birthday!

Nike and I turned 6 today!

Thank you to my friends for your pawmails, comments, and gifts to honor this special day.

Every morning, Mom takes out the laser light and makes me run! Did you think I didn't run? Of course, I have running mates and we have to be careful not to crash into each other, but I run faster than you might think. I had a good run today, along with good food and treats.

I've been watching Huey, the new Dood in the family, but the only time I get close to him is when he's asleep. He's half my size and smells funny, but I heard he's going to be bigger than I am.

It's been nice having Mom home the past few days, even if it was because of the Dood, so I guess when she goes back to work tomorrow we're going to have to babysit him!

So I heard....

....that we're getting a puppy on February 20th!

The puppies now weigh between 7-9lbs. My parents better pick the biggest one because if Nike and I can fit in the openings of the pet gates leading to where we eat and go potty, so can he!

I guess that's why he's gonna have his own little play and sleep area for awhile when he can't be supervised, and I'm gonna teach him to eat alot and get big fast! That's my specialty.

I got my wish!

After looking at the PetSmart website for weeks to see how we should spend the combined $75 that Melody, Joy and I won from the Catster contest, the best decision was made!

We got food! We got mostly Wellness Healthy Indulgence Cat Food Pouches, some dry food and treats!

Life is good, even though Dad now says I look like a penguin. In the mornings when he wakes up he announces that there's a line outside the mess hall, and you know who's in front!

Nike wrote in his diary how Dad thought that Fat Boy (yours truly) was on top of the cat tree when it was really him. Well, this Fat Boy really was on top of the tree today. Who said fat boys can't jump and climb.
