Dear Abby Sweetie:
It was 12 years ago tonight that you became my kitty, and I miss you very much.
I remember your coming to the door to greet me when I returned home. You always talked as I put down whatever I had and took my sneakers off. After that, you told me “Mmmmmrrrrp” before you jumped on the bed for me to join you and pet you.
I remember joining you on the chair every night. As I petted you, you purred beautifully and loudly. This happened for at least 20 minutes every night before I went to bed; you joined me on your side of the bed soon after.
I remember the way you shared your beautiful purring over the phone if you wanted to say hi to the person on the other end.
I remember how you “gave me paw” by tapping my ankle lightly as I walked by you.
I remember the way you stood at the door and told me that you wanted to go outside. You always made a grand entrance to the outdoors because all the kitties in the area knew you were the Queen of the Cats.
I remember going outside to call you before going to bed. If you wanted to come in, you ran in. If you didn’t, you waited for me to go over to you, pick you up and then bring you in for the night.
I remember the way you sat on the porch to watch rain and lightning, and how it all fascinated you.
I remember all the happy times I had with you.
I know we will meet again. When we do, we will remember each other as if we never separated. Until then, you are my Abby—In Loving Memory.
Your loving catmom, who will always remember you
