Arrival Story:
A cat came by my house several times in August and September of 1993. I let her stay with me overnight and fed her if she didn't go home. On September 18, 1993, I found her mother, who said that her black cat didn't like the other two cats in her house. I explained what went on for the past few weeks, so she looked at my house and then asked me if I could make my home hers. I was more than happy to; after all, she adopted me by coming by my house! Her previous mother called her Black Cat and I named her Abby. The name fit her and she answered to it. She was between 2 1/2 and 4 years old when she came into my life, and she gave me 11 of the best years. From the kink at the end of her tail and her many vocalizations, she had some Siamese in her. She hissed and growled at other cats at first, but became more tolerant and then made two cat friends (both black cats) later.

Abby passed away on November 24, 2004 from lymphoma. It was the night before Thanksgiving (US) and I thank her for all the time she gave me. She's my first cat and I will always love and miss her. Abby is a one and only who can never be replaced.

I want to thank everyone who gave me a Gotcha Day rosette. We would open our gifts and thank each of you personally if we could, but all we get is a spinning wheel when we try to read what each of you say.

Mom gave me as many treats as Catster permitted her yesterday. They’re good and I gave some to Lisa.

I Will Always Love My First Kitty

I still remember how you became my catgirl 23 years ago tonight.

I never expected to have a cat and you adopted me after you visited me several times in the weeks before I became yours. I wasn’t sure whether or not I should have a cat and you showed me how great it is to have a kitty.

I didn’t go by our house today because it is very different from how it was when we lived there. The last person who lived there when we did moved to somewhere else last year.

You met my second kitty, Lisa, in March and I know you made good Bridge friends with her. I adopted Zoe in May and she is almost as talkative as you.

We will all meet again someday and I will bring you whatever you want.

Although I have taken extra care of Lisa since I felt her breast lump, I will never forget you. And I always will love and remember you.

Lisa’s appetite was not very good at the end of last week. I gave her medicine and had her try the Fancy Feast you loved. The medicine worked and she eats again!

I took a walk yesterday and ended up going by the place we lived. I saw someone on the walkway you sat on many times and crossed the street and asked her if someone lives in our old apartment. She said she and someone else does. I told her we once lived there and asked her if she likes it. She said they do and I am happy they like it.

We only spoke for a few minutes because she and her roommate were on the way to somewhere else. I am glad to know that someone lives there and likes it.

I had to work today and I made sure to take time to look at what I have for you. All your pictures, tags, collars, letters and everything else are in the same places they were when Lisa and I moved to where we are now.

My catgirl, I know I will see you again. When I do, I will bring Fancy Feast and whatever else you want.

PS: Thanks for the presents!
