Arrival Story:
Jonas was completely feral when he came to the shelter. I could tell he was pretty special, though, and tried working with him. It worked and after about 2.5 weeks he was available for adoption. A couple days later he got very desperately ill and I was away from the shelter for those two days so I didn't know. When I came back, he was so mucousy and horrible looking that I thought he wouldn't make it. After two days of vaporizor and medication therapy he wasn't getting better so I took him home for around the clock foster care. He had to come to work with me for weeks and needed once-an-hour treatments. It took about a month to get him healthy again and by that time, he was so closely bonded to me that when I tried to get him adopted again, he lost most of his hair from the stress of being in a shelter cage. He ended up staying and is still extremely weird but we're glad we kept him! :)

Bio:
Jonas has some sort of allergy (inconclusive as to what is causing it) but has had no other health problems. He's not the brightest kitty and will stare at his reflection in the stove or microwave doors for an hour at a time. He's still skittish and flighty from being feral and will run away from even us if we don't approach him right. He's very odd but loves the other cats and dogs. He's never hissed or been aggressive toward anyone or anything since those first couple weeks at the shelter when he attacked some of my coworkers. It's usually policy to euthanize a cat that's as sick as Jonas was or feral like he was when he entered the shelter but I think he was meant to be with us and something made me give him a chance. He's so odd, though, that we joke that he's an alien! He's got a very unique pouty-lipped face and just looks so cute!
