Kidney Problems & High Blood Pressure

Well that suxs, I was taken against my own will yesterday to see the vet and even when there they had to make me uncomfortable by sticking a needle into me to get blood and then one into my bladded, not too impressed at all, and I had that stupid blood pressure thing put on me. As soon as I thought it was over they held me down on my side to put this yucky gel stuff on my belly to look at my kidneys! its enough to make a cat like me puke. THEN the vet took to my teeth with this tool that pulls the gunk of my teeth, I was then one hell of a pissed off pussy cat!

We are now waiting for results from all of this but so far I have proven to have kidney disease and High Blood Pressure, I dont care so much but im a bit sick of drinking so often. As for my owners they are rather upset about it all.

Toxoplasmosis January 2010

I had not been feeling so well, began to cough and wanted to just rest on my own, my humans kept watch on me while they began to medicate me on advice from my vet, i didnt get any better, i began to cough a lot and had trouble breathing. I was given an xray that showed masses in my left lung, some vets said i might have cancer, so i had to go and have a fine needle biopsy, that was risky alone due to my fast and shallow breathing.
its been almost a week now and I have spent the whole time in hospital with a needle stuck in my arm for medications, they have discovered that I have toxoplasmosis and this is likely flared up because of the immune suppresant medications I have to take for my skin disease. I want to come home and be back to the healthy cat i was, im sick of being sick and miss my everyday life. Please wish me well so I can come home soon...

Biopsy Update

A huge thank you to them cool kitties who have been thinking so much about me while I have been undergoing some tests. Thanks for the Rosettes and Stars, they have made me feel so special and happy.

My Biopsy results did not show up much at all, not so impressed with them, they started possible Urticaria Pigmentosa and Eosinophilis on the skin, yes we already know all this from looking at me Duh!
The report said it comes down to hypersensitivities.
I am on cortisone as well as Cyclosporine, throw in something to stop the runny bum problem that both of these drugs cause. I have just finished antibiotics and anti fungals. I feel as if I run to fast I might rattle.

Mum is considering having a company called Spectrum to test my blood for allergies, we dont have much in Australia that is very good so my blood has to be sent to the USA. wow it will travel a long way. Thing is we dont know how good this company is, the skin doctor says she doesnt have much faith in them but she has faith in one called Heska.

Anyway this should all happen in a few weeks time when the doctor does his job in taking my blood, I wont be scared because I will be thinking of all my feline friends here!

Itchy & Sore

On Tuesday the 30th October 2007 I went to the specialist about my skin, she said we should do some skin allergy tests but also said she should take a biopsy of my skin. Some Devon rex & Sphynx breed cats have a genetis skin problem called Urticaria Pigmentosa so this is what they need to check.

My skin is covered in big rashes, it looks terrible and its also very itchy and sore.

The doctor has found out that I have Malassezia on my feet and skin as well as bacterial infection on my skin, this is of course mostly in my rash areas. She has given me antibiotics and antifungal pills, I cant have my other skin medication until I have finished these pills because they will interact and cause me to be more sick.
I hope to find out my Biopsy results in a few days.

For all you itchy and rash cats out there, you are not alone. I have been going through this since I was a baby and still battle it each day. Please consider further investigation if your skin is still a problem as most often it is not a typical food problem or flea problem.

Easter

It's almost Easter again and I can't wait, last year I had no chance of catching the easter bunny as I woke too late but this year I have another plan.
My plan in simple, I won't eat any dinner the night before as I will remain hungry and on alert, because I will be hungry I won't be able to sleep. I will remain under the bed ready to stalk the Easter Bunny as he enters my house. Mum says she is going to get lots of chocolate this Easter and even has hope he will leave her a gold egg, as for me all I want is a chomp on his furry tail.
I have never had fresh rabbit before, I hear its very tasty maybe even better than roo meat.
So this year, Look out Easter Bunny cause Jordan is gunna get ya!

Almost Christmas

I looked out the back window today to see my lunch bouncing up the street. Us Aussies always tell non aussies that it isnt true that kangaroos hope up the main street but today I seen one, it was a young eastern grey kangaroo and it looked very tasty to me!

I'm so excited as I am getting a christmas present from my online girlfriend Jennie, I sent her a card and a mat for her mouse (thats when she catches one as quarintine wouldnt let me send a dead aussie mouse) and now she is sending me a present with lots of smooches included. Everytime I hear the door bell I think its the postman with my present, I'm going to have a kitty fit when it arrives.

Me and Jennie been an item for sometime now, we exchange personal and some intimate details but something I can not share with any humans who are reading as this is cat business only.

And my bestest every male friend is Pundy, cause we are mates we sometimes speak about the problems we have with our furry friend at home and even problems we have with girls. I'd love to sit down and have a can of milk, carrots, tofu and maybe a fish with Pund someday.

Well better go keep a watch on the lizard, still not caught it, if only I could find a way out the backdoor.

Wet and embarrased

Something strange was going on so I run around the house for a bit playing and hiding at the same time, I was sure my human was after me for something, what was it, pill time, was I in trouble or was it something else. As always myhuman tricked me when I wasnt aware and I came out to grab my piece of paper, BOY do I owe her one for being so sneeky!

I wasnt too impressed to be plonked onto the sink that was half filled with soapy looking water, and the other sink half full of clean warm water, there was also a towel and a bottle of something called Malaseb. Was she going to wash me?

Oh great how embarrasing, my slave started to give me a sponge wash with the smelly soapy water and then once I looked like a drowned rat and all you could see what my naked skin underneath she then continued on with the clean water to remove all the soap, my brother and sister just sat and watched me, I could see the laughter in their eyes.
And to top it all of I was then wiped down with a thick tea towel, talk about rattle my brains, I was sick of it all so I put in a few words and told her off, she told me it was ok, NO IT WASNT!

Whew thank god that was over, Because I was a good boy I got yummies afterwards I got my little bowl of Yogies, YUM, I love Yoghurt!
Fat reduced natural type of course (they think I am fat!)

I sure feel cleaner and look even more attractive than my usual beautiful self, but I should have been given a medal for my efforts.

Happy Birthdays to Me!

I was so happy to wake up this morning and see what I got for my Birthday, it's my number 3's birthday so I am now past that terrible 2's stage, well at least thats what my slaves thing.
Guess what I got for my birthday?
I got some kangaroo steak and my slave cooked it for me, even cut it up all fancy too. I can't have any other fancy foods that I want to have cause I am on an elemination diet all because of my stupid skin problem.

I been running around most of the day and sucking up my birthday, don't want the day to end.

Time for me to go and demand more attention, I am on a roll with this sucking up business, got the slaves fussing over me like never before.

By the way, how long does a birthday last, is it from one dinner to another?
I bet tomorrow mum will say its my birthday again as I will be 3 yrs and 1 day old.

The Dog

My play mate the dog went to see the doctor on Friday, she has been an unwell old dog and the doctor had to fix her teeth, my mum said she might lose a few so as you can imagine I was pretty happy with the sounds of that as I would be able to jump on her more when she least expected it and not get bitten. But my dreams all destroyed to see the dog comes home with only 3 teeth missing, surely the vet could have taken them all our for the sake of me!

And you think that now she was home all was over and done with, nope you are wrong, the stupid dog put on an act and had runny bum problems, I can promise you that it was all an "act" and act to get fresh cooked chicken (oh the poor sick doggy), yep the dog was lapping up the chicken, straight from the pan, she looked fine to me.

So after all this rubbish getting in the way of the most important thing in everyones lives, "ME" I now intend to bring on my own illness, not sure what I will do yet but I was thinking I might put on a limp or something and if that doesnt work I will go on a hunger strike OR even create my own runny bum problems, then lets see who gets the fresh cooked chicken.

I caught a MOUSE!

I couldn't wait to get my paws onto the computer to tell you that I finally caught a mouse!
My mum was helping fix a friends computer and she didn't notice anything odd but I did, I seen this tail mover around a few times, I stood my ground and acted as if I didn't see anything as I didn't want my first catch getting away, I waited and waited and then I pounced, there I had it in all 4 paws kicking the living day lights out of it, stupid thing didn't squeak but it did make the oddest of noises, it was clicking at me, hmm, I kicked a bit more to make sure it was dead but it kept sliding away from me, then my mum tried to get in on the act and claim my catch, she isn't real smart as she grabbed it whole handed and moved it about, I let her have it in the end as she has never caught a mouse. My mum looked at me after I showed my super talented skilled feline ways and told me I was a fool, mum told me it was the mouse that belonged to the computer, oh boy didn't I feel a right idiot!
I have heard my people say time and time again that it was a mouse, how was I to know that I wasted my valued sleeping hour catching a clicky thing with a very long tail attached to the computer!
