One summer night, we heard a little, but loud meow on our front porch. Our cat Duncan was inside, so we peeked out and saw her adorable calico cat face. I was adamant that we couldn't have another pet (in addition to Duncan, the rabbit, and two dogs.) Our girls heard the kitten and came out of their beds begging for us to take her in. It was 11:00 p.m, and the girls were sobbing! The next morning I left for work at o'dark thirty. I told myself that if the kitten was still around, I'd feed her and pay the consequences. She wasn't on the porch or in the yard. I was getting into my car when she scooted down from the maple tree and came right up to me. I fed her, then left to work. I called the house when I knew my husband would be awake. I felt that I needed to let him know that I had fed her. When he answered, before I could say anything, I heard the same loud meowing over the phone! We couldn't believe that this adorable kitten didn't belong to anyone, so we took it to the local animal control shelter. As soon as she was available for adoption, we ran back over and brought her home. Her true name is Chumley Jr. after a Siamese cat we had adopted when he was 10 years old. CJ has the same type of meow and we thought she might have been a reincarnation of Chumley.
