Arrival Story:
I met LaLa when I went searching and found my Lea. LaLa was rescued off the streets after a long-time of being chased by my friend and fellow volunteer Jim. She was just really quick and loved to be running and playing and doing her own thing. LaLa had special ways about her that made everyone love her, but no one wanted to adopt her. In the unit LaLa had been friends with my Lea, so I took her home because she needed a break from being in a cage for most of the day. She was between one and two when I took her home. She loved being in a real home. LaLa had always seen other cats gets adopted and be placed into carriers to leave. Everytime a carrier came into the unit, she would jump and want to go home so badly, but it was never her turn. When I took her, she had two playmates, one of whom she knew all ready. She could race around and get into everything and anything she could think of. LaLa could have stayed with me forever, but then she began to have problems, she was unable to control her bladder, it looked like she may have been having seizures or something, and the worst of it was when she was rushed to the vet because she was unable to breathe. An x-ray was taken and it showed a tumor on this sweet little girl's heart. It was so abnormal that it began to wrap around and crush her windpipe. There was nothing that could be done for this angel. She passed away on March 11, 2003. LaLa touched so many hearts and her love and affection could not be measured. She is still here with me and all who knew her. Both Ethan and LaLa did not know each other in life, but I would swear that LaLa is the angel that brought Ethan to my door so I could help him. LALA, you are loved forever. Play hard baby girl!
